Area 29 is a watershed that flows into the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve.

This watershed has Special Biological Significance (ASBS) and is designated as a State Water Quality Protection Area.

The Critical Coastal Areas (CCA) Program is a collaborative effort by local stakeholders and government agencies, to better coordinate resources, and to focus on coastal watersheds in critical need of protection from polluted runoff.

A multi-agency statewide CCA Committee has identified an initial list of 101 CCAs along the coast and in San Francisco Bay.
