which willbe filmed by Storytellers for Good for our One Million Safer Kids campaign.
We are especially looking for families with children with special needs who would like topractice some safety skills and are willing to be filmed in the early afternoon session- andthere are a few spaces left in the morning sessions too!Although this is not a full Kidpower class, children and parents together will be taught andpractice Kidpower skills in a fun hands-on way. This is a great opportunity to come togetherwith your kids in a safe environment to discuss personal safety, how to avoid bullying, andhow to defend themselves in potentially dangerous situations. Seeing a film crew in action isalso exciting and interesting for many kids.The schedule will be:
9-10:30 a.m. Children, ages 3-6, with their parents for a "Starting Strong Safety Practices with Puppets"
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children, ages 7-14, with their parents for "Kidpower Safety Practices with somephysical self-defense instruction"- will include a head-to-toe padded instructor
1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tailored safety practices for young people with special needs (ages 5-17) together with theirparents
Parents will need to plan to attend with their children and will be asked to sign a video release. However, we will NOTuse the last names of children or parents on the videos or give out any other personal information.
