Introduction
Please note that this is a guide intended specifically for the people who will beperforming day-to-day content management of the Golden Oak Ranchwebsite, and is aimed at persons new to the WordPress platform. It is not acomplete manual. The audience it is designed for is users rather thantechnicians
 –
so installation, advanced set-
up and configuration guidance isn’t
included. This guide covers the basics in each section, looking to take a progressiveapproach so that each section builds on knowledge and skill acquired earlier in the guide.
Using WordPress
WordPress (WP) has really moved the game forward for non-experts whowant to maintain their own websites. With WordPress you have the system tomanage the content
which automatically slides into the theme that’s been
developed for the visual presentation of the site. What WordPress also does is make possible the building of a well-structuredwebsite which makes the job of search engines easier. The biggest limit isimagination, and the beauty of this content management system (
CMS
) is thatyou get to spend less time fighting your website and more time on beingcreative
 –
and productive. As you learn more about WordPress
you’ll learn a lot about what it can (andcan’t) do. But work within its relatively few limitations and you have a
powerful and flexible tool to manage and continue to grow your website.
