ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
 
RESOURCE is a prominent community-based nonprofit that serves the metro Twin Cities areaand St. Cloud. The organization is a broad, multi-cultural, multi-programmatic service provider with 34 sites and over 50 specialized programs in the areas of: employment and job training,chemical health, and mental health.For over fifty years, RESOURCE has been a leading provider of community services, helpingover 250,000 people since its founding in 1962. The organization is funded by governmentgrants and contracts, fees for services and contributions from foundations, corporations,organizations and individuals.The work of RESOURCE Inc. is carried out through four divisions:
Employment Action Center
-assists thousands of people each year in seeking a new job, abetter job or a whole new career. EAC meets the special needs of women, youth, laid-off workers, New Americans and many others.
Minnesota Resource Center
-offers vocational-evaluation, training, employment and jobretention services to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment (immigrants, laid-off workers and individuals striving to get off welfare.)
Recovery Resource Center
- helps people recover from chemical health issues.
Spectrum Community Mental Health
-provides services that help people with a mental illnesslive and participate actively in the community.In 2011 alone, RESOURCE provided the following services:
14,713 people served with educational and employment readiness
862 people with disabilities or barriers prepared to succeed in the job market
1096 people helped in their recovery from chemical dependency
2517 people with mental illness helped to live and thrive in the community
565 active volunteers provided hours of outstanding volunteer service!

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
With an annual budget of approximately $25 million and reporting to the Board of Directors,the President will lead, plan, organize, and control all aspects of the organization. ThePresident will provide leadership in fulfilling the RESOURCE mission through its staff,volunteers and stakeholders up to and including management of all programs, its financesand human resources, as well as the administration and development of the staff in acomplex nonprofit organization. More than 290 paid staff and 565 volunteers assistRESOURCE in achieving its mission.The President will possess the insight and ability to maintain the stability of this vitallyimportant organization and steer its growth in an era of increasing challenges and growingopportunities. In partnership with the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers, the Presidentwill determine the most sustainable business models for the future, build and maintain astrong internal team, and establish and operate programs and systems to fulfill the missionof RESOURCEKey staff positions within the organization are: Two Vice Presidents, Chief Financial Officer,Directors of Employment Action Center, Spectrum Community Mental Health, RecoveryResource Center and Minnesota Resource Center, Communications Director, HumanResources Director, Director of Grants, Manager

Donor Relations, Executive Assistantand Volunteer Coordinator.

clearly articulating organizational goals for financial and programmatic stability and growth for the future.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and staff in makingstrategic and timely decisions. Effectively involve knowledge holders and delegatedecisions to appropriate levels.Leadership
Invest in staff excellence.
 
Support, develop and retain qualified and excellent staff,particularly supporting and strengthening the senior management team and the capacityof core internal functions. The President sustains and builds a positive internal culturethat makes RESOURCE an attractive place to work.
Motivate and inspire others to act by supporting the established visionary leadership,setting clear direction and clearly communicating the RESOURCE mission.
 
Champion diversity in staff and other constituencies. Further RESOURCE’s
commitment to undoing racism and reducing racial disparities in our community.
Maintain strong and effective internal relationships, acting as a team leader and a teamplayer.
Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the organization by selecting anddeveloping effective people across the organization.
Serve as a team player, utilizing the leadership team as a resource for its customer andindustry expertise, partner relationships, operations management and focus on results.
