Entrepreneur Beware
On the internet, there is a multitude of information regarding prototyping, much of which isconflicting, confusing, or strictly advertisements for services. Prototypes and the process bywhich they are developed can vary greatly depending on goals, markets, industries, materials, and budgets. Be sure to educate yourself on the process so that you feel confident you haveselected the right team for the job and the resulting prototype meets all your needs. We encourage you to read and research as much as you can. Speak to other innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs. Ask them about their journey, who they worked with, what theyhave learned and what they would do differently. Avoid invention promotion companies becausetheir services are costly and their success rates are very low. The path to success is different forevery person, but there are a lot of lessons that you do not have to learn the hard way. If you look hard enough, you will find someone who has already been down the same road as you.As always, you can contact us atLeardon Solutions and we will be more than happy to answer any questions. Feel free to reach out and contact us.
Types of Prototypes
To start, it’s important to understand that there are three different types of prototypes, each
which are built in a specific phase of a product development life cycle and are used to achievethe goals and objectives of each phase. These three different types of prototypes, whendeveloped in the proper sequence, are used to evolve the product from the idea stage to a finalproduct and help to optimize the cost, quality, and efficiency of prototyping for entrepreneurs.Creating three prototypes ensures that the product is developed and refined throughout theproduct development life cycle and has been designed and built to be beautiful, functional, andof the highest quality.
It’s easy to build a
mediocre prototype but it takes a dedicated team withexperience to build one from which great value can be garnered.
