Welcome ALG onlookers! This is the second magazine edition from
the Monkey machine, rocking this world! YAHOOOO!

This new season has a lot of hot new games out and you’ll notice the
inspiration for this Summer Edition. Last edition had a great
reception from our members and I am humbled that others enjoyed it
as much as I did! It’ll be hard to back up this edition with the same
level of content, but I hope that other qualities will keep the awesome standard!

So, it’s no surprise that other clans want to be like us. We are after all, something special
and unique and I’m proud to call myself an ALGite. My advice to our new recruits is
simple: if you are a part of us, we are a part of you. We are loyal and we will look after
each other. As mentioned in the last edition – our Legends, Operators and Moderators are
here to guide you in the right direction. If you have any questions or suggestions for
improvement on our already awesome clan, we have open ears!

 had heard a lot of good things
about this before I actually got a
chance to play it. One video
reviewer of it actually dubbed it
“Slaughter Ahoy” and honestly it
would be a fitting name for it. The
best way I would describe this game
isP simple. Really easy to figure out
and there really isn’t much to it. It is
fun though.
Gameplay: As I said previously
the game is quite simple. All you do
is run around just killing everything in
sight. That’s about all there is to it.
There is some strategy involved.
Each part of the story you are going
against a different army. Upon
entering their territory you have to go
to each part on the map and kill all
the enemy soldiers then proceed to
take the capture point by killing that
specific squad leader. You then keep
repeating this process until you get to
the last part in which you face the
boss (general, leader, etc.) of that
army. You have to avoid traps but
basically its just about killing the

opposing army. Yes it is simple

but its fun regardless.
Controls: Once again the word
simple comes to mind. Very easy
controls and it only take a couple
seconds to actually figure out what does
what. Sure there is some tweaks you
later unlock such as new attacks 9 /
and what not but once again, you 10
will figure them out pretty easily.
Game modes: There is 2 game
modes to Sengoku Basara. First you
have the story mode. Its really easy to
follow and actually takes some time to
get through since there is 1 0 characters
and each character has a different
storyline. And second there is a quick
battle. Not much to it you just can play as
any character on any of the battles you
have been in. you can also do local Co-
op on both story and quick

battle. I would have liked to see

some online co-op but Its not
such a bad thing that its
missing in this game.
Overall: I very much enjoy this game
and would probably play other Sengoku
Basara games. There is a few things that
could be improved upon. I would
recommend this game if you are just
looking for a simple and
straightforward kind of game
or just want to kill a lot of 81 0/
stuff.

o all you hockey fans out there you must
be pretty excited. I know I am! Not only
is my favorite team, the New Jersey
Devils are in the Stanley Cup Finals, but EA
just released a couple of days ago a trailer of
National Hockey League 1 3. They’re calling
their new advancement game as big as when
they introduced the skill stick into the series.
The addition to the series is true performance
skating. With the introduction of TPS, a
physics-driven skating engine with over 1 ,000
new animations, they’ve captured the
explosiveness, momentum and incredible top
end speeds that today’s NHL stars have. TPS
also brings a whole new level of creativity to
NHL 1 3 players, giving them as much control
over how their player moves as the Skill Stick
gave them over the hockey stick.
Be a GM is the most popular offline mode
in NHL 1 2, allowing players to take control of
their favorite team and build it into a dynasty
from the boardroom to the ice. This year
they’re letting you pit your GM skills against
those of your friends, allowing you to play in
your own 30 team NHL against them. They’ll
manage their team, you’ll manage yours as
you control your team’s trades, draft picks,
lineups, and on ice performance. It’s the
ultimate armchair GM experience, offering
unrivaled accessibility and depth as players
manage, play or coach their team on the road
to a dynasty. With five ways to play, this is a
mode for every fan of NHL hockey, whether
you’re a longtime EA SPORTS NHL player or
just a passionate fan of the NHL who wants to
moonlight as your favorite team’s GM. A
companion mobile app will let players stay
connected to their league even when away
from their console.
Other game play modes have also been
improved and there will be deeper reveals to
follow, but here is a small taste of what to
expect. Hockey Ultimate Team received an
impressive new interface as well as changes
to playoffs and tournaments. In Be A Pro
you now have greater control over your
career, including the
ability to request a
trade away from your team or decide to hang-up
your skates and retire when your virtual knees
begin to grow stiff. EASHL, the EA SPORTS
online hockey league has received a number of
new improvements including the ability to choose
club captains, a region based matchmaking
system designed to reduce lag and the addition
of procedures created to encourage users to play
through a full EASHL game.
Overall NHL 1 3 gameplay innovations and
brand-new connected experiences include:
• True Performance Skating: A ground up
overhaul of how skating is handled in the NHL
series bringing unprecedented reality to video
game skating.
• EA SPORTS Hockey I.Q.: Smarter computer
controlled players who read and react to the
entire ice not just what’s right in front of them.
You are also able to customize the behavior of
your players and team.
• GM Connected: The ultimate fantasy hockey
league allowing you to play with friends across
the world and deepens the experience of Be a
GM NHL’s most popular offline game mode
allowing players to manage, play or coach while
building their team’s legacy.

as you play through the most thrilling moments
from the today’s NHL.
• Refined on-ice presentation: We bring the
most authentic looking NHL hockey experience
to-date.

 he long awaited game has finally
arrived! Diablo III has hit stores and it
is a very good follow up to original.
With many neat features and a well
thought-out story line, it is a very fun game. With
five classes to pick, I’m sure you will find one
accustom to your taste. Whether your style is
head-on combat, or long ranged spells, you will get
one you like. Since I got this game, I can’t stop
playing it!
Story: Diablo III starts off with you wandering in
the woods. You follow the road up to a small town
called “Tristen”. This is where you start your
adventure, but first you must help the front gate
guard’s fend off an undead attack. After that, you
are let into the town to go find Leah; she assigns
your first quest. You then get to go and begin you
bloody massacre. Earn gold and items for fallen
enemies, chest, etc. As you go through the
campaign, you will level up and grow stronger.
Also, your friends may join your quest at any
time! They can come with all their gear and powers
and help you out! But be careful, if you join your
friend’s game and he is farther than you, your
single player game will be skipped up to that point.
This will make your experience in Diablo III a very
boring and dull one!
Classes: The game of Diablo III is very nice.
There are five classes for you use. They are;
Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor,
and Wizard. All these classes are new except for
the Barbarian which has been in previous games.
The Barbarian is a “Head on” class. Manly
focusing on smashing foes and take a few hits for
the team. He can use two one handed weapons, a
one hand weapon and shield, and a two handed
weapon which will do the most damage but at a
slower rate. Demon Hunters are like the Barbarian
counterpart. They
attack from afar, using only long-ranged weapons
like the crossbow or the bow and arrow. They can
use two crossbows, or one bow and arrow. But
since the Demon Hunter works from afar, he fails to
have any melee training, so he can’t use any melee
weapons or fight close range to well, but he is very
swift so he can move though the battlefields like a
ninja. Then we have the Monk. The Monks attacks
are mainly focused on combo moves to increase
his damage while he strikes. The Monks have a
very limited weapon selection, only using fist based
weapons and combat staves.
So if you’re a Monk, you better be careful, not
many weapons are fist based, so you better be
ready for somewhat rough time. Next is the Witch
Doctor, able to control the battlefield from afar by
conjuring up sprits and the undead to fight for you.
Also, in his off hand, is a good place to put an
“Orb”. These “Orbs” can help boost your magic
powers of conjuring sprits and make you stronger.
The Witch Doctor is a unique classes style all of its
own. Finally we have the Wizard, a remake of
Diablo II’s Sorceress class. The Wizard comes
back with some old sorceress powers and a few
new tricks up his sleeve. Using his Arcane Magic
against foes at long range and dealing a whole lot
of damage as well. He can also avoid foes using
magic like “Slow Time” or other dodging abilities.
The Verdict: Diablo III is a very extensive and
well-made game, bringing more to the table
than I ever expected. This game shows that 9. 5 /
it is far superior to its last installment. I 10
believe that all PC gamers should consider
purchasing this game!

So take my word for it, and take a good look and
buy this game!
 have spent way too much time in the
various wastelands I have been lucky to
explore. I was also way to young when I
played the first one. Still the most
hardcore subject matter ever presented to me in
a game. I think that's what I like about the series.
In this world there is no good or bad just
survivors. Your character always a person with
no attachments and the world at their fingertips
(a pretty messed up world). Fallout is a post-
apocalyptic role playing game set in the
destroyed future imagined by 1 950's American
T.V. commercials. The world is filled with items
that look like whoever sold them started with it’s
the generic item of tomorrow! With countless
Easter eggs, famous actors, hours of story and a
lot more in my look at the Fallout series.
I love the Fallout series. Though not as
versed as some who have played Fallout 2 and
Fallout Tactics but still a huge fan. I have now
played Fallout, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.
I want to write a review of the 3 of the 4 main
RPG's in the Fallout series and look at the
broader world of the series enjoy. I was very
young when I played Fallout with my friend we
would spend hours exploring and being shocked
by the crazy dialog!
Harold: Where were the mutants coming from?
Vault Dweller: Everywhere! Hell, seemed like
you couldn't fart without hitting one. But mostly
in the northwest.
Vault Dweller: You farted Northwest?
Harold: [laughs] Pretty good... Noo...
Your Vault dweller could also say crazy
things! With so much great dialogue we would
save and listen to them all and then continue the
story. I literary used a line from this game on
ALG Amandah I won't say which one.
Every Fallout I have played starts the same
the same way you are a lone man sent out into
the unknown with a goal. In the first game you are a
vault dweller. In pre-war America "operation safe-
house" was started run by the company Vault-tec.
The program was to make super bomb shelters that
could house and sustain up to a 1 000 people for
indefinite amount of time. When the "Great War"
began many people found refuge in these huge
underground vaults. Only a few of these vaults were
designed the way you would think, a large space
with supplies to live out your time waiting for nuclear
fallout to pass. Instead they became horrific social
experiments! (see side bar)
Your story begins in one of these vaults in Fallout
something goes wrong and you’re sent out into the
wasteland. So besides being immediately a beautiful
game with a original style the character creator &
stat system really let you make your character. The
"SPECIAL" was created for the Fallout series a
acronym for "Strength, Perception, Endurance,
Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck" It did a
really great job again in making your character yours
also being truly a no-linear game you can go
wherever you like at the start of all three games I'm
talking about. In the first one you have a certain
amount of time to achieve your goal but still plenty of
time to search the wastes! With super mutants tons
of interesting characters and weapons the game is
simply amazing. It holds up to this day against any
other turn based RPG mainly because the story is so
engaging not to take away from other elements of
the game. It was given nearly perfect scores by most
reviewers and has been included in many ‘best
game of all time’ lists. There are lots of places you
can find this game and play it on-line.
Fallout won the RPG of the Year award by
GameSpot in 1 997.

Vault 21 This vault's purpose was gambling,
reinforced by having only compulsive

 gamblers admitted as vault residents, and with all
conflicts within the vault to be resolved through
gambling. It is one of the few non-control vaults
that didn't end in failure.
Vault 27 This vault would be overcrowded
deliberately. 2000 people would be assigned to
enter, double the total sustainable amount.
Vault 29 No one in this vault was over the age of
1 5 when they entered. Parents were intentionally
redirected to other vaults
Vault 42 No light bulbs of more than 40 watts were
provided.
Vault 68 one woman 999 men
Vault 69 one man 999 women
Vault 43 Twenty men, ten women and one panther
Vault 55 No entertainment
Vault 56 No entertainment except this one critically
hated comedian.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
When Fallout 3 was announced I was so excited
to relive my childhood! A new world to explore and I
don't even have to share the experience(and
character creation) with my friend. Happy to say this
game did not disappoint, it begins with you literally
being born! You grow up in your vault playing one of
the most creative character builder I have ever seen!
Once you have decide how you were playing. It did
such a great job of letting you be your character.
You could live where you want and how you wanted
too. The game was beautiful continuing the retro-
futuristic style and back humor that made its
successor visually stand out while keeping you
attention. Its Style, game play and re-playability
make both Fallout 3 and New: Vegas two of the best
games I have ever played.
Every Fallout RPG begins with the same phrase
"War ... War never changes" and Bethesda brought
in Ron Peralman (Hellboy) to continue his role as
the Fallout Narrator. When you begin each game
you are given a Pip Boy this huge watch device that
is a clever way of letting you check your stats and
items. It also doubles as a flash light and more
importantly a radio that has been integrated into the
story as well. Just like the cars the music is stuck in
the time period that inspired the art style. In New
Vegas the game uses classics by Dean Martin and
Frank Sinatra to help set up the Vegas experience.
The radio gives you great music you probably would
never listen to otherwise, while the radio-
personalities respond to the far reaching
consequences created by your character and
gives you quests. So many weapons are in this
game even mini nuke launchers and many
weapons that are pop culture references. The
point is every aspect of these games stays in
step wit the style of the game.
The game play is FPS or 3rd person and has
VATS system that allows you to make turn
based combat decisions in a real time battle.
Your character can be customized from face to
eyeglasses all that affect your characters stats.
Your weapons degrade with use and if playing
Hardcore mode you even become thirsty. The
world is so big with hours of dungeon crawling
each with its own bizarre story or little tribe of
crazy people with its own history! New Vegas
has the record for most dialogue in a game and
its all relevant never feeling phoned in. There is
so many ways to fight, dress,things to build,
decisions to make that the game can go on
forever. If you never have played any of these
do yourself a favor and pick up either for the
music, story or some of the best open world
game play available!
Fallout 3 won many Game of
the Year awards in 2008!
Legal battle/Future of the series:
Black Isle Studios developed the first two
games Fallout & Fallout 2. In 2004, Interplay
shut down Black Isle Studios and made another
Fallout game (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel)
most fans do not recognize as cannon.
Bethesda than got to make Fallout 3 and
another game New Vegas was made by Obsi
Entertainment. With the huge interest in the
franchise the original creators wanted to make a
MMORPG. Sounds great but Bethesda and
critics accused them of trying to ignore the
events that happened in Fallout 3 and Vegas.
Creating two time lines or Fallout worlds that
would be alike but not the same. Bethesda and
Interplay ended up going to court over it with
Bethesda winning. We now have a Fallout 4
announced but no date and the
MMORPG it seems has been canned
(there is a Elder Scrolls one so we will
see if we get a Fallout MMO!).

 atman Arkham City is a brilliant
game! Former Arkham Asylum
Warden Quincy Sharp is now mayor of
Gotham City, he has moved all bad
guys from Blackgate Prison to an area
of Gotham which is has huge walls all
around it to Arkham City! Dr Hugo
Strange runs Arkham City and Batmans
job is to see what the fuck is going on
inside Arkham City. It starts with the
best opening in modern gaming.
If you played Arkham Asylum you will
adept to this game very fast. It has the
same core gameplay as Arkham
Asylum. You brawl with one button,
counter with another and leap when you
feel like it. Batman's got a slew of new
counter attacks including the ability to
take out several attacking enemies at
once and the ability to use nearly every
gadget in battle with a hot key system.
Even though the system can seem
simple (that's if you ignore combos and
multipliers) the range in the attacks and
battles keeps it interesting.
I felt like Batman during gameplay
because I had so many gadgets. I would
use a smoke pellet to disappear then
beat the daylights out of a thug that
Joker hired. Or I would use a freeze
grenade to take out a gunman. I was not
scared when I saw 20 enemies because
I knew that I would take them out fast.
Arkham City isn't an open world like
Liberty City it's more like a hub world
with a bunch of dungeons like The
Legend of Zelda or a bigger version of
Batman: Arkham Asylum. You can not
go into every building, but as you
explore, you're going to find you're kept
from discovering some of the 400-some
Riddler Challenges until you double
back with new gadgets. As you unlock
the game's dozen side missions, you
have to search nooks and crannies for
murder victims and political prisoners in
distress.
Batman: Arkham City isn't perfect, but
listing the little things I didn't like gets in
the way of all the stuff I adored. The
voice acting, the challenges, the
amazing opening, the unbelievable
ending and the feeling of being the Dark
Knight -- these are the things that
standout looking back.
Batman Arkham City is one of my all-
time Favourites, ALG get this its great

ow, we all know there are a lot of
things that can piss off gamers
nowadays, but one thing that
pisses a lot of adult gamers off, and I’m sure
you all have had it happen to you before,
mother fucking team killers! Now don’t get
me wrong, I too will team kill when the time
is necessarily right, but I will not tolerate
people who team kill me for their own
benefits for something like a weapon or
vehicle. I mean come on! Who the fuck
doesn’t get pissed when they end up having
some douchebag kill them for absolutely NO
FUCKING REASON and then that same
exact person takes whatever you had like
they found it or something. If I’m going to
team kill someone, at least I have reasons
of doing it. Not just for shits and giggles. Oh
and let’s not forget how once they team kill
you, and if you they have a mic to hear you
bitch, you get asked that stupid ass
question like always. ‘’U mad bro?’’ ‘’Hey
bro why are you mad?’’ YES BRO, I am
mad you smartass piece of shit. It’s not like
we are just so fucking happy when you kill
us and then take everything we had when
you had no reasons of going about your
actions like you do. Seriously, if I’m team
killed, personally, I would team kill you if we
were both on the police force, you
cocksucker. Everytime you get team killed
by someone I have a few steps for you.
• 1. File a complaint for being unsporting.
• 2. Send them a message instead of raging
in game chat and preferably let them know
they are not welcome in this world.
• 3. Avoid player, try anything to make sure
you don’t play that faggot again.
• 4. If still in the game, team kill till either
booted or they leave.

The second thing I would like to rage about
would be the little kids. Now I understand, ALG
does have some of those types of people, but
they are obviously awesome because they are
in the best clan in the world! But if they aren’t in
ALG, I have a simple word of advice for
themPDON’T TALK! It has got to be the most
annoying thing to my ears when I hear some
little kid scream at a game extremely loud and
yet he shouldn’t even be on that game! Like
come on shouldn’t there be a parent around to
smack their kid upside the head and tell them
to shutup? Seriously it is so fucking annoying to
hear a little kid scream, especially if they have
a Kinect. Not only do you have to listen to them
scream but they repeat the same words like
500 times. ‘’Hello?’’ ‘’Hello?’’ ‘’Hello?’’ ‘’Hello?’’
‘’Can anyone hear me?’’ ‘’Anyone?’’. Sorry kid,
but we don’t want to talk to you, it’s just that
simple, we do not want to talk to you and hear
about your day in 3rd grade arts and crafts,
effin ridiculous. Or how about when they sit
there and try to play the game and they are just
getting destroyed making your team lose? Like
seriously, if a parent has a kid that is under the
age of 1 3, they seriously should not be letting
them play Halo or Call of Duty, because those
are big boy games, usually T for Teen or M for
Mature. Not T for Toddler or M for Mommy.
Every time I hear a little kid now I usually end
up muting them and reporting them for
offensive language that way they get muted by
Microsoft hopefully, because it is just absolutely
annoying to listen to them. Again, I am not
trying to offend anyone in ALG who might have
a squeaky voice or anything like that, you’re
cool in my book considering you joined ALG
and you’re hopefully here to stay with a clan of
badasses and help us dominate the Xbox Live
platform.
Other than that I hope you guys enjoyed my

 his is the debate that has been
going on ever since 2006 when
the Playstation 3 first released.
Which is the superior console?
Is it the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3?
No matter how you look at it there is no
clear cut winner here. Each console
has something to offer that the other
doesn’t. When it comes down to it there
is only one
determining factorP
personal preference.
When you think of
the Playstation 3 one
of the first things that
comes to mind is
probably Blu-Ray.
This of course means
that in theory the
graphics are likely to
be superior and for
those really big games it also means the
possiblity of only having 1 disc as
opposed to the Xbox version of the
game. While it is true that the PS3 may
have the better graphics this also means
that there is longer loading times. And
that multiple disc issue? That really isn’t
that much of a deciding factor when it
comes down to it. Who cares if you have
to get up and put the second disc in?
After sitting around playing a game for a
while we all need to stand up and
stretch a little anyways.. you can just
pop that second disc in at that point. So
once againP there truly is no way to
decide the superior console based on
the type of disc alone.

Now moving along to online play. I’ve
heard quite a bit from those that favor
the Playstation the typical response to
Xbox Live “Why should I pay to play my
games online? On the Playstation
Network its free.” While it is true that it
costs for Xbox Live the fact is the cliché
phrase “You get what you pay for”
applies here. Microsoft offers much
more with their
online service
than Sony offers
with theirs. Plus
there does seem
to be an overall
better quality to
the Xbox Live
Servers while
gaming. So the
question is which
is the better option
for online features? The free, Good but
not great service or the one that costs
extra money but offers more?

ow we all have seen the Star wars movies
(If you haven't, you really should see
them.). Well have you ever wonder what it's
like to use the force, or fight with a lightsaber? Well now
you can!! Kinect introduces the Star wars game. Fight in
deadly combat with a lightsaber, Lift objects and breaks
bones with the force, and play some of the cool modes like
“PodRacing”. Jedi, you may be.
This game brings the lightsaber to your inventory. Slash
enemies with killing blows with your lightsaber. But you
also must block those deadly blasters from hurting you but
how? You use your lightsaber. Block blaster shots and
defect them back at your attack to show them whose boss.
Also dodge your enemy’s lightsaber by sliding left or right.
Then go in for the kill. But make sure you’re not dying from
all the action.
Also, you can unleash the true Jedi within you as you
control the force. Learn from the master himself, Yodi. As
you Throw explosives, lift Storm Troopers off the ground,
and catch incoming projectiles. You’ll learn the true
meaning when it comes to being a Jedi. Don’t worry though
the force isn’t too hard to control. Simple hand movements
like a push or a swipe up can make a devastating blow in
–game.
This game also offers some cool modes of gameplay
like “PodRacing”. Control your own Speed Bike as you race
a friend or fight Storm Troopers. Lean to move left or right
to avoid obstacles and gun down your foes! Speed up by
stepping forward and watch as your foes are left in the
dust. This mode is an amazing aspect of the game.
But like every game, there are always negatives. Such as
the controls, it may be fun to have the force and lightsaber.
But with some delayed movement and uneasy aiming with
the force, it makes the game somewhat difficult to enjoy.
Also as the graphics are very much just a big cartoon. But if
you’re a hardcore adult a Star Wars fan, this game may not
be your type. As this game direction heads for a younger
audience, many hardcore fans will find this game as a very
big disappointment.
So as my review folds, this game has its up’s and
downs. I’m rating this game a 3/5, as it soon as the
controls start to glitch; this becomes very

frustrating to play. But it is a game of decent
gameplay and Interesting story. So if you’re going
to buy it, make sure you prepare for a little anger
as you play.

The Opening Ceremony for ALG Olympic Video Games is on
the 27th July 201 2. Organised by the Misc mastermind A
Steedo1 2, he has worked long and hard to coordinate
everything in order for the games to run smoothly. A HUGE
shout out to A Steedo1 2 for working his tail off to get it all
happening! This will be a great test to see if the Olympics will

Every now and then, there is a member that exceeds
expectations and catches the eye of their favorite division's
operator, however, this particular member, now moderator,
has caught the eyes of two operators. I am pleased to
announce the promotion of A LazyPegger to moderator for
both the Call of Duty and Miscellaneous Games divisions. I'd
