DutyHoursa.Exceptforfacultymeetingsprovidedinparagraph#6below,thedutydayshallbeamaximumofseven(7)hoursandthirty(30)minutesconsecutively,providedthatthisshallnotapplytothoseemployeescontractingforlessthanfull-timeduty.b.Theworkdayforallemployeesduringpre-school,post-school,andallTeacherWorkdaysduringtheregularschoolyearshallbefrom8:00a.m.to3:30p.m.,withone(1)hourforlunch.AnexceptiontothisforamodifiedworkdayisasdeterminedbyafacultyvoteconductedbytheEBCandapprovedbythePrincipal.Oncevotedandapproved,themodifiedscheduleforpre-school,post-schoolandallTeacherWorkDays/In-ServiceDaysatthatschoolwillstayinplaceforthebalanceofthatschoolyear.2.LeavingtheBuilding-Attimeswhenanemployeedoesnothavescheduledinstructionalresponsibilities,conferences,orotherassignedduties,theemployeemay,upon

approvalbythePrincipalordesignee.leavetheschoolbuildingforpersonalreasons.ThePrincipalordesigneewillnotbearbitraryorcapriciouswhenconsideringsuchrequests.Anyemployeewhoisawayfromthebuildingunderthisprovisionshallnotbeconsideredtobecarryingouttheresponsibilitiesofhis/herposition,andtheBoardshallnotbeliableforinjurytotheemployeeordamagetotheemployee'spropertywhilenotonschoolproperty.Wheneverpossible"aPrincipalwillpermitanemployeetoattendhis/herchild'sschoolOpenHouseand/orparent-teacherconferenceprovidedsuchemployeefindshis/herownproperlycertifiedcoverageorusesavailablepersonalleavetime.Whenusingpersonalleavetime,theemployeewillfollowproceduressetforthinArticleV,SectionB(2)ofthisAgreement.3.Check-InProcedure-Employeesshallnotberequiredto"clock-in"or"out"byhoursandminutes.4.Planninga.Planningtimeisdefinedasnon-studentcontacttimeduringwhichsuchemploveeswillnotbeassignedspecificresponsibilitiesordutiesexceptasprovidedinArticleIII.DofthisAgreement.Planningperiodsareprovidedforthepurposeofpersonalinstructionalplanning.Departmental.team.orgradelevelplanningwillnotbeconsideredaviolationofthisprovision.however.departmental.teamorgradelevelplanningwillbegovernedbythetimelimitssitedinArticleIII.SectionB4CandD.Planningtimeisalsodefinedasbeingsomewhatdifferentinnaturefromaclassroomteacher'splanningtime.Forexample.aclassroomteachermayelecttouseplanningtimetogradepaperswhileacounselormaychoosetoreviewastudent'srecordsandamediaspecialistmightreviewmaterialordersduringtheirplanningtime.b.PlanningPeriods-Planningperiodsareprovidedforthepurposeofpersonalinstructionalplanning.Employeesin

D.Employeesinmiddleschools.highschools.andschoolsinstructingadults.shallnotberequiredtoforfeitthelesserofeithertwo(2)planningperiodsoronehundred(100)minutesofhis/herplanningtimepermonth(AugustthroughJune)toattendmeetingsinitiatedbytheadministrationunlessotherwiseagreedtobytheschool'sESC.5.ProhibitionAgainstRequiringAnElementaryTeachertoStayWithHis/HerStudentsWhenSuchStudentsarewithAnotherTeacherandReliefTimeforElementaryTeachers.a.Anelementaryemployeemaybeassignedtoaccompanyhis/herstudentstoandfromanotherlocationwhensuchstudentsareassignedtoanotheremployeeduringtheschoolday,butshallnotbeassignedoraskedbytheadministrationtostaywithsuchstudentswhiletheyareassignedtoanotheremployee.Thiswouldinclude,butnotbelimitedtomusic,art,physicaleducationandlibrary(mediacenter).b.EffectiveAugust1,2011,allelementaryemployeeswillbescheduledrelieftimeoneachregularstudentattendanceday.Employeesmayusethistimefortheirownpersonaluseandtheadministrationagreesnottoscheduleanyemployeeduties/assignmentsortoscheduleanemployee'slunchduringthisperiodoftime,butmayassigntheemployeetoattendchildstudyteammeetingsandparentconferencesduringhis/herrelieftime.AffectedemployeesshallbegivencompensatorytimeorshallhavetheirrelieftimerestoredbythePrincipalatthefirstavailableopportunity,butifpossiblenotlaterthanten(10)dutydaysaftertheassignment.c.Inaddition,eachelementaryschoolshalldevelopaplanforprovidingrelieftimewhenanemployeemayfinditnecessary(emergency)toleavestudentsforwhichhe/sheisresponsible.TheschoolplanshallbemutuallydevelopedandagreedtobythePrincipalandtheEmployees'BuildingCouncil

Ifamutualagreementcannotbereached,theissuewillbesubmittedtotheAreaSuperintendentforresolution.

6.Meetingsa.FacultyMeetings-Inadditiontotheregularworkday,employeeswhoarenotreceivingasalarysupplement(Dept./GradeLevelChairsorTeamLeaders)mayberequiredtospendtimebeforeoraftertheregularworkdaywithoutadditionalcompensationforthepurposeofattendingnomorethantwo(2)meetingspermonth(SeptemberthroughMay)initiatedbytheadministration.Suchmeetingsshallbeconsecutivewiththeregularworkday.Employeesshallnotberequiredtoremainlongerthanninety(90)minutespermonthandnottoexceedsixty(60)minutesatanyone(1)meetingbeyondtheregularworkday.Inelementaryschools,theEBCwillconductavoteoftheemployeestodetermineifthesefacultymeetingswillbeheldduringtheregularworkdayorbeyondtheregularworkday.Ifamajorityvotetoholdthesefacultymeetingsduringtheregularworkday,thiswillrequireelementaryemployeesatthatschooltogive-uppartoralloftheirplanningperiodondayssuchmeetingsbeginduringtheelementaryworkday.Forfeitureoftheseplanningperiodsisinadditiontotheforfeituressetforthin4~{ll_above.InadditiontoFacultyMeetingsasstatedabove,atthePrincipal'soption,he/shemayscheduleafacultymeetingforuptofifty-five(55)minutesduringanyorallTeacherWorkDays/In-ServiceDaysasspecifiedintheSchoolBoardCalendar.b.MeetingsPriorToandOnHolidaysandWeekends-Ameetingwhichtakesplacebeyondtheemployees'dutyhoursandwhichrequiresattendance,assetforthin(a)aboveshallnotbecalledonanydayimmediatelyprecedinganon-workdayoronanon-workday.c.NoticeofMeetings-Thenoticeofanymeetingconductedimmediatelybefore,immediatelyafterorduringthedutydaywithanadministratorthatrequiresoneorseveralemployeestoattendshallbegiventotheemployee(s)involvedassoonaspossiblebeforesaidmeetingandifanyaffectedemployeeisunabletoattendameetingscheduledimmediatelybeforeoraftertheregulardutydayandgivesnoticetotheadministratorthathe/sheisunabletoattend,themeetingwillbepostponedfornolongerthantwo(2)daysdlolty

priortothemeeting,exceptinemergencycircumstances.7.CompensatoryTimeForOpenHouseandParent-TeacherConferences-Nomorethantwenty(20)hoursofcompensatorytimeperschoolyearmaybeearnedandusedforrequiredattendanceatone(1)"openhouse"and/orassigned"parent-teacherconferences"thatarescheduledbeyondthenormalworkday.ServicerequiredbeyondtheselimitationswillbewithcompensationaccordingtothesupplementalhourlyratesetforthinAppendixB.Onlywiththeconcurrenceoftheaffectedemployeeshallanindividualparent-teacherconferencethatcannotbeconductedduringthedutydaybeconductedatatimenotimmediatelybeforeoraftertheemployee'sworkdayoratasiteotherthantheemployee'sworksite.Noemployeewillbeexpectedtoconductaparent-teacherconferencewithahostileparent/guardianwithoutthepresenceofanadministrator.Inaddition,aPrincipalmayrequest,butmaynotrequireemployeestoattendotherafterschool,beforeschooland/oreveningand/orweekendactivities.Theseemployeeswhoarerequestedandwhovoluntarilyattendsuchactivitieswillbegrantedadditionalcompensatorytime,whichmaybeinadditiontothetwenty(20)hoursthatcanbeearnedabove.
