Getting Started With Link Building
Getting links into your website from other sites is a great way to increase your site’sPR score.Incoming links from other quality websites with PR4 and above should be your maintarget. If you don't have the Google Toolbar installed, you should definitely install itnow - it will help you identify the websites and directories that will be the mostbeneficial to your own.Search Engines like to see a natural progression in link building.Having 2,000 links suddenly appear from nowhere appears ‘smelly’ and is likely toget you penalised. The first thing to do is create a text file with your link details in it. WARNING: While you will want to focus on getting links for yourmajor keywords so that you can rank higher in the Search Enginerankings ensure you mix up your text links and spread them out a bitso not to draw too much attention to yourself and make it look asnatural as possible.
Exchanging Links
While not as effective as it used to be, reciprocal link swaps or link exchanges canstill be useful in driving traffic and boosting your rankings if you do it right. The key we always use here is relevance. Only swap links with these sites in yourfield i.e. insurance sites or dentistry sites.
