Log-in
Go to
www.trailmaker.co.uk
. Youruser ID and password will have beenset for you.You can change your user ID andpassword later if you know yourorganisation's customer password.Otherwise your i-Guide administratorcan change them for you, and canremind you what they are should you forget.
Trail Selection Page
The Trail Selection page is where you
create a new trail
, or choose anexisting trail to edit. When you log onto Trailmaker for the first time, theTrail Selection page will be blank.Click on New Trail to create your firsttrail.Once you have created one or moretrails, they will appear on this page.Highlight an existing trail to work onit, change its name or otherproperties, put it up on the internet,or delete it.Page Features:
New Trail
Click here to create a new trail – seeCreating a New Trailfor moredetails.
Edit Trail
Highlight an existing trail and click here to edit it – seePageSelection Pagefor more details.
Modify Trail Properties
Click here to change the name of your trail, or alterother properties such as the audience, copyright owner, or overall trail style seeModifying Trail Propertiesfor more details.

Delete Trail
Does exactly what it says on the button.
Implement Trail
Click here to put your trail live on the internet: you'll needyour organisation's customer password. If a trail with the same name alreadyexists (for example if you are updating an existing trail) you will be asked if youwish to replace the existing version.
Export Trail
Click here to send a copy of your trail to other users within yourorganisation.

Creating a New Trail/Modifying TrailProperties
To create a new trail, first give it a
name
and
description
. The namewill appear on the trail, thedescription is purely for your ownpurposes – you might want tospecify the subject and age group orability level the Trail is aimed at(History KS2, for example).The
copyright
ownership willdefault to your own name andorganisation; you can include asmany copyright owners as you wish(for example for photos). Note that it is your responsibility to ensure that youare entitled to use all materials in the trail.Choose whether you are creating a
standard trail
or a
web trail
. Web trailsplace your trail alongside existing web pages, which you select. They are notgenerally suited to handheld use.Check the
uploads allowed
box if you want your users to be able to attachfiles to the finished trail: photos taken on a PDA, for example, or voicerecordings.
