Rahman will not stophere. I am sure he willwin an Oscar too. I always knewonly Rahman can do it. He hasmade the country proud and putIndian music on the the top ofthe world. From here the futurelooks good and Rahman is solely responsible forthis. He is the best. Rahman is truly the king. He isone of the finest composers in the country. He hascarried India’s name on the global map and hasachieved something, which no one from thiscountry could do.
Shankar Mahadevan, Music composer & singer
We are very good friendsand we always aimed atmaking a mark at theinternational level. Today mydream has come true. He has notonly made Chennai proud butIndians all over the globe. It isreally awesome and I am extremely happy for him.I congratulated him early in the morning.
Sivamani, Drummer
Rahman has churned outgreat songs even in thepast but he did not get an awardso I feel that he truly deserves thisone. I am very happy for him andwhen he comes back to India, Iwill meet him. I’m sure he willdefinitely ask me, "Are you happy?" The song ‘JaiHo’ is a very naughty and playful number; it has agood combination of poetry and music and and Ienjoyed singing it.
Sukhwinder Singh, singer
I expected Rahman towin. I hope he makes itto the Oscars.
Chinmayee, Singer
It is a great victory forIndia. It’s a victory of alife time and I’m proud that anIndian artist has entered a newterrain of achievement. He trulydeserves it. His ‘Vande Maataram’and ‘Bombay Dreams’ gainedinternational recognition and the Golden Globewas an expected win.
