This summer has been one of many changes for us. In the past, we have been actively involved in the campministries in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This summer we have been at a different vantage point as weare involved in the home office ministry helping our missionaries as they serve on the field. However, we havebeen eagerly awaiting and looking forward to August 3—18. We will be involved with a satellite camp inBernolakovo, Slovakia and another camp in Ceske Budejovice in the Czech Republic. These satellite camps are great opportunities to partner with a local church and help them reach the youth intheir communities. WOL CZ has been partnering with the church in Bernolakvo for over five years and we haveseen how this camp has opened many doors for the church to the community. The Pastor and others havebeen stopped on the street and asked about the camp and some have been invited into homes because of thesecamps. The best part is that the church is able to help follow up the decisions that have been made and thepotential discipleship that can take please. This year WOL CZ is starting a new satellite camp in the town of Ceske Bodjovice. This is the seventh largest city in the country and is situated in the south west approximatelythree hours away, by car, from our current camp. This town is know for
, which is the nationalbrewery for “Budweiser” beer. This region is described as a “White Spot” in the Czech Republic. If you were toput a black spot on all the churches in the Czech Republic this region would be almost completely white. Ourgoal is to help a Baptist church reach out to the youth of this community and share the Gospel with them. Please pray for us and the teams that we will be working with during this time.Rich, Alissa and Travis will be going on this trip and will be involved in various duties. Rich will be teaching theBible Hour for the teens and children and will be assisting with the basket ball instruction. Alissa will be helpingthe team doing English and Travis will be helping with basket ball instructing and other various task. Pray thatwe are an encouragement to the team there and also that God will already be working in the hearts and lives of the campers and staff. We will again celebrate our anniversary in the Czech Republic (29 years) and Travis willturn 16 on the 12th while we are there.
World Leadership Conference kept us busy and was a huge blessing tous and the many staff and leaders that traveled in from all over theworld. Seeing friends with Word of Life from around the globe is sucha joy and a wonderful opportunity to hear all that the Lord is doing allaround the World. We had reports from new Bible institute on JejuIsland—Korea, Brazil’s camps and conferences, Europe and thedoors that are opening and what God is doing in Africa. Timea had just returned from Appalachian Bible College (ABC); and was very excitedto be a part of the team that encouraged our co-worker's children/teens. She had aspecial time to discipleship many young girls. Travis also joined in and was very happy to beable to meet up with friends he had met in previous years.Mirek and Olinka were here for the Conference. We are thankful that we could special time with them and getto know Joel. Euni, their daughter, stayed with Mirek's parents. Mirek was able to travel for a few weeks toshare the ministry in the Czech before Olinka and Joel joined him for the conference. Pray for their support to
