Description

The Bible is one of the oldest books known to man. Those stories go way, way back. But, they're just as important for our kids to learn today as they ever were.

But, how can you get kids to read the Bible? Nowadays, you are competing with television, Internet, DVD's and video games. There seems to be no way to get kids to read an old book anymore.

Well, in our high tech age, we can use modern technology to teach the Bible. Kids are more plugged in than ever. They are surrounded by electronic gadgets and mass media. Why not use new tools to teach old ways?

The Internet

There are loads of Bible resources online, available at the click of a mouse. Of course, the entire Bible in all its versions are online, complete and unedited. These sites provide a great reference for your Bible studies.

Even better for kids, there are interactive websites with audio and video. When kids get more involved in their Bible study, instead of just reading it, they learn actively.

Bible Software

You can find all kinds of Bible tools for your computer, and lots of Bible software is absolutely free. This software can be interactive, complete with Bible quizzes for the kids to take to see if they are learning.

The biggest advantage of studying the Bible with software is that it makes it easier for kids. They're already used to using technology to learn.

Bible Video Games

There are even Bible video games. In some of these games, the kids solve riddles and meet actual Bible characters. They are fun as well as educational, and some parents end up hooked on them as well!

With video games, you don't have to discourage kids from wasting their time playing. Now, playing video games can be educational and enlightening.

Bible DVD's

There are videos and DVD's for kids of all ages to learn the Bible, from the very small to the very big. For little kids, you can get cartoons with songs and dances to get them started early learning about the Bible.

For the older kids, there are DVD's that go into more depth about the meaning of the stories in the Bible. This is much easier for kids than reading the Bible itself, and these videos can leave a lasting impression on them.

Bible Podcasts

Online you can find Bible podcasts that you can download and listen to on your iPod. This way, your kids can have their favorite Bible stories with them all the time, along with their favorite music and pictures.

Technology is not only a great way to get kids interested in the Bible. It's also a great way for busy parents to keep their kids studying. Not all of us have time for Bible study on Sundays or the little bit of daily Bible study we need to keep in spiritual shape.

Instead of fighting technology for your kids' attention, why not give it a try.
