Naming Opportunities Program
Many public school districts foundations around the nation, including Pennsylvania, arenow offering naming opportunities to donors, a practice that universities have engaged infor decades. (Some local examples include the Camp Hill Lion Foundation, ShippensburgArea School District Foundation, Waynesboro Area Business, Education, andCommunity Foundation Capital Campaign, etc.) Naming opportunities are a heartfelt andunique way for donors to recognize, honor or memorialize a loved one.The funds raised will be used to establish an unrestricted endowment; the incomegenerated annually will be used to
support the CASD Foundation’s mission and other
initiatives as identified through quantitative need assessments. It is important to note thatthis is offered for the purpose of naming opportunities for major donors
notadvertisement. At no time will advertisement of any kind be placed in a classroom oreducational setting through this program. Corporate donors will be encouraged toparticipate in the same way as individual donors, but all signage regardless of donor typewill fit within specific program parameters. We will begin the program with eligible naming possibilities in the Chambersburg AreaSenior High School
classrooms, special interest rooms (music, art, etc.) labs, gymnasiums, libraries, cafeterias, auditoriums, etc. and promote additional opportunitiesthroughout the district as private and corporate donors present themselves.Signage will be professional designed and mounted as inconspicuously as possible, while
meeting the goal of recognizing the major donor’s wishes –
i.e. “The Class of 1962Auditorium.” Signage will be consistent throughout the building (color, font, and logo)
and will be reflective of the atmosphere of an educational institution. (Please note thatmany school foundations provide naming opportunities for auditorium and gymnasiumseating. It has been determined that this will not be offered at this time due to the ongoingmaintenance of the signage and the additional costs for repair.)An agreement will be established (with the template to be reviewed by the CASDFoundation Board of Directors, CASD School Board of Directors, and legal counsel)which will include a clause for removing the name (with gift maintained) shouldcircumstances arise. (i.e. Auditorium in Mechanicsburg) In order to accept the donation, this agreement must be approved by all involved parties.
