Crime is define as “An act punishable by law; usually considered an evil act; “a long record of crimes”. Inthe sociological field, crime is the breach of a rule or law for which some which some governing authorityor force may ultimately prescribe a punishment. The word crime originates or derived from the Latin wordCrimen.Crime is everywhere. Even though countries define crime differently in their criminal codes, no country iswithout crime.An increasing number of countries now report statistics concerning traditional crimes (murder, robbery,rape, theft, burglary, fraud, and assault) to the United Nations surveys. Crimes rate computed from surveysare universally higher than those of official records.There are so many kinds or types of crimes such as; Crimes against person or people, Crime againstProperty, White Collar Crimes, Victimless Crimes etc.
Types of Crimes
CRIME AGAINST PERSON
Crime against person / people includes Murder, Attempt to Murder, Hurt, Rioting, and Assault on PublicServant, Rape or Sexual Assault, Kidnapping or Abduction etc.
RAPE / SEXUAL ASSAULT
Being raped or sexually assaulted is a very distressing experience and the effects can be longlasting. Victims who have suffered sexual attacks describe feeling like angry, guilty, ashamed,powerless, and depressed. Victims sometimes have difficulty in sleeping or eating, and find it hard toconcentrate. It can be very difficult to talk about the attack to friends or family, even some people do notwant to tell anyone about what has happened.A woman who is the victim of sexual violence may be eligible for criminal injuriescompensation. Normally, the crime must have been reported to the Police.As many as 42843 cases of child abuse were reported in Pakistan during last nine years,reports Madagaar helpline run by Lawyers for Human Rights & Legal Aid LHRLA.
