Fit
and
finish
on
these
guns
arcremarkably
good, with exceptions
noted

The
SICs arc
superbly
turned
out
machines.
Trigger
pulls
arc
soft
and
light,
not
crisp.
Thestandard
grip
is
quite
comfortable.
The
safety
and
slide release
are not
nearly
so
convenient
as,for one
example,
the
M1911 Colt.
The
hammer
mechanism
incorporates a second
notch, which
is
not
exactly the same
as a half-cock asusedinthe
U.S.
The
function
is
simply
lo
catch
the ha
mmer
should
itfollow
down
or
slip
when
hand-cocked.
The
sample
P210-6
would
pulloffthis
second
notch quite
easily,
with
thesafely
eitheron
or
ofT.
The
firing
pin
was
driven
with
sufficient force

Upon
disassembly
and
inspection,
Gunfacls
found
that
the
parts
rel
ationship
in
thesafetymechanism/trigger
set-uprequiredabsolute
tightness in fittingto
eliminate
all slackin
order
to
avoid
this
condition when
safety
is
on. Apparently,
all
SIG
210's
will
drop
the
hammer
from thesecond
notch when
safety
is
off.
Th
e
sandblasted
finishof
the
SIG
pis·tols
appears
to
be
two-toned.
In
a conversation
with
SIG
's
president
,Gunfacts
learned
that
the twotones are
unintentional.
SIG
hardens the
entireslide
(and
the
entire
barrel)
and
the
hardened
steel'sresponse to
sandblast·
ingdiffers sufficiently to
provide
thefinish difference.
SIG
prices
arc
high
,
but
the quality
is
commensurate.
The
pistoltested hereretails for$225.00.
The
P210-l
servicetype wi
ll
be less;the P210-5willbe
more.
The
22 conversion
unit
