In the military, it is important for everything to be as efficient as possible.Units work together so that all operations are tightly controlled andmaneuvers are planned down to the last minute detail. In order foreverything else in a military operation to run smoothly without a hitch,soldiers must be well equipped with solid devices, comfortable clothing, andexcellent protection. This alone is making soldiers able to workmore efficiently in the field, with less bulk hindering stealthy movements,especially during covert operations where silence and slinking is extremelyimportant.Another reason tactical vests are important is because of the storage theyprovide for the necessary weaponry that soldiers carry. Pouches, pockets,belting, and other features provide homes for guns, ammunition, and otherdevices that are even less savory. In fact, tactical vests are actually made invarious configurations to suit the needs of specialized positions for differentsoldiers in combat. Some of these vests have special features such aspockets made specifically for grenades, while others have clips for up to 12magazines. Some are even geared for automatic weaponry, with pouches forthe hundreds of bullets that fly from a rifle in a few seconds’ time.Beyond these benefits, tactical vests are also extremely durable. Sure, youmay have gathered that from the fact that they are bullet proof, but stoppinga high velocity piece of metal is entirely different from every day action.Crawling through dirt, sand, weeds, grass, gravel, and mud, as well asgetting stuck on branches in forested areas or simply being worn over andover can ruin some materials quickly. However, tactical vests are made to beespecially durable material that can withstand lots of abuse heaped on in thevarious climates and terrains in which soldiers may find themselves duringoperations. They are also insulated, assisting in keeping cold out and heat inwhen worn in cold climates and vice versa in the desert climates, like Iraq.Tactical vests are one of the most important pieces of body armor becausethe chest and abdomen are some of the most sensitive areas that could bestruck by enemy fire, leading to death.
