Response:Principalsandclassroomteacherleadersmustbeempoweredtoimplementinnovativesolutionstoclosetheachievementgapthroughstudentengagementanddifferentiationofinstruction.Innovativesolutionsforcontinuousimprovementdemandafocusonstudentachievementresults,improvementplansforallschools,teachersandstudentsand actionresearchthatblendstheworkofthelocalschoolwiththebroaderprofessionalresearchcommunity.Desiredresultscannotbeachievedthroughedictsoremailsormemosbutonlythroughaclear,collectivevisionthatencompassesthebestthinkingandpassionsofprincipals,teachers,students,parents,andcommunityleaders.Visionaryleadersarcnevercomplacentwithmanagingthestatusquobutarecontinuouslyadjustingandadaptingthestrategiestoimprovethecorebusinessofteachingandlearning.CEO/Superintendentsmustunderstandthatthereareonlytwotypesofdistrictstaff:thosewhoteachandthosewhosupportteachers.Ifthisvaluestatementisarticulatedinapowerfulandcontinuousmanner,itfocusesattentiononthecorebusinessofteachingandleaminganditalsoelevatestheimportanceofeffectiveinstructionto
