Science Week with the SUPERHERO SNOWFLAKES

(Ks & 1st graders)

Come discover the unknown of everyday items as we submerge into Science Week. The Superhero Snowflakes will be making rock candy, telescopes, discovering what happens when you put an egg into vinegar and much much more!!! On Tuesday we will be heading off to the UW Greenhouses and on Thursday we will be off to the Pacific Science Center (I would also send swim gear just in case the temperature is warm...keep your fingers crossed). Steve and Angelina

Breakfast is an important meal and we serve a breakfast snack at Kids Inc. but it is only out for those early morning campers. The children run and play hard and need the energy to make it to lunch. Please make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast at home before coming to camp! Thank you for your cooperation.

Science Week with the THE MUMMIES

(3rd -5th Grades)

Science Week with the DRAGONS

(1st & 2nd Grades)

The Dragons will be using our inquiring minds while we spend a week being our natural scientist selves with experiments, tests, investigations and field research ( field trips!). We have three awesome field trips planned on Monday to the Pacific Science Center; Wednesday to the University of Washington Planetarium and Friday to the Zoo to learn about tree kangaroos. At the center we will make oobleck; experiment with Jello, magnets and mini parachutes and stage our favorite game show, Sink or Float???. We will probably get wet, so keep sending those towels and extra clothes and remember to ask someone at least once a day: Isnt SCIENCE WONDERFUL? Polly and Lindsay

Welcome to Science Week, fellow investigators! We will start out the week by checking out our environment, cultivating bacteria samples and doing a cooking experiment. Then we will explore the vast biodiversity right outside our door with a nature scavenger hunt. Tuesday we will continue with our experiments, including making batteries and playing with a black light. We will even try to extract our own DNA! Wednesday we will tour the UW Greenhouse, and then continue on Thursday with our experiments. We will even film our own mad science show! On Friday we will take all of our new found science knowledge, and head for the Pacific Science Center! Jay and Amira

Beach Day/Park Day/Everyday

Please note the schedule above for Beach and Park day. Dont forget to apply that sunscreen before your child gets here to Kids Inc. everyday, and especially on all beach/park days, the kids will be leaving by 9:10 and returning by 3:00 pm. Washington Administrative Code insists that either all children have freezer packs in their lunch or we must carry portable coolers on our fieldtrips. We are asking for your support. Please make sure that your child has a freezer pack in their lunch. A frozen water bottle works great. Thanks for your help.
