The political environment in the 4
Congressional District favors Republicans.
Fully sixty-one percent (61%) of voters, including 75% of Independents, in the 4
Congressional District think the country is on the wrong track.A majority of voters (50%), including 58% of Independents, disapprove of PresidentObama’s job performance.President Obama’s health care law is not popular in CD-4: fifty-one percent (51%) of voters,including 55% of Independents, disapprove of the law.Forty-four percent (44%) of voters, including 48% of Independents, think President Obama’seconomic policies have made the economy worse, while only 35% of voters, and 27% of Independents, think President Obama’s economic policies have helped make the economy better.
Danny Tarkanian’s lead is built on a real advantage among Independents and great numbers with base Republicans.
Danny Tarkanian leads Steven Horsford on the ballot 46% to 35%.
Danny Tarkanian has strong support with his base: 82% of Republicans stand behindTarkanian. Among Democrats, 65% are supporting their candidate while 19% arecrossing over to Tarkanian.
Independents favor Tarkanian on the ballot 44% to 22%.
