In order to understand God's Word,
we must have a basic understanding of
biblical numerics. Throughout the Bible
the term "four winds" is utilized. To­
day, we are going to discover what
this term should mean to us in this generation.
The spiritual significance of the number four is
earth and man on earth. We have four directions on
earth; they are north, south, east, and west. There are
four divisions in our day; they are morning, noon,
evening, and night. Spring, summer, fall and winter
make up the four seasons we have on earth. Man on
earth also goes through four basic phases of life; they
are youth, young adult, middle age and old age.
"Ruwach" is the Hebrew word from which our English
word "wind" is translated. The word "ruwach" means
spirit; therefore, the term four winds means four spirits.
There is only one Holy Spirit. There are four distinct
characteristics of the Holy Spirit that control earth and
man on earth. The four characteristics of the Holy Spirit
are the Spirits of love, knowledge, jealousy and wrath.
The four winds bring forth these Spirits from the Old
Testament and throughout the New Testament. These
four winds are very important to an understanding of
prophecy in these latter days. Let's document these
things in the Bible.
REVELA TfON 7:1 And after these things I saw four
angels standing on the four comers of the earth, holding
the four windS of the earth, that the wind should not
blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
These four angels are holding the four Spirits of
God. They are holding His jealousy and wrath and yes,
in some cases, they are holding His love and knowl­
edge. Why? Read on in this chapter and you will learn
the angels are waiting for the 144,000 to be sealed with
the truth of God's Word. Many of you are playing a
part in this sealing. Some might say, "Well, I've never
heard of such a thing. God wouldn't hold His love and
knowledge." Oh yes, He does! God loves His children
that love Him. God gives knowledge to His children
that take time to study His Word. Friends, that leaves
a lot of folks without His love and knowledge today.
Let's tum to the Book of Daniel as we continue our
study of the four winds.
DANIEL 7:2 Daniel spake and said, "I saw in my
vision by night, and behold, the four winds of the
heaven strove upon the great sea.
The great sea denotes the people of earth (Revela­
tion 17) from which the four beasts of Revelation 13
will rise. The four winds of heaven converged upon the
peoples of earth in this prophecy of the end times. The

four Spirits of God control the events
and actions of the peoples leading to the
end of this dispensation. What should we
be doing in our lives in relationship to
these four winds? They have a great deal
to do with you. Ezekiel was a type for the elect of this
generation. He was sent to warn Israel they would fall
under the captivity of Babylon. Babylon means confusion.
Many today are held captive by the confusion of biblical
illiteracy. The elect today should understand the four winds
and be warning those held captive. Let's go to Ezekiel.
EZEKIEL 37:1-2 The hand of the LORD was upon me,
and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set
me down in the midst of the valley which was full of
bones, !i And caused me to pass by them round about:
and, behold, there were very many in the open valley;
and, la, they were very dry.
The bones are those of the spiritually dead. Remember,
Ezekiel is a type for you. Have you seen any dry bones
lately? Have you seen any spiritually starved skeletons?
EZEKIEL 37:3-6 And He said unto me, "Son of man, can
these bones live?" And I answered, "0 Lord GOD, Thou
knowest." ~ Again He said unto me, "Prophecy upon these
bones, and say unto them, '0 ye dry bones, hear the
word of the LORD. fi Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these
bones; 'Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and
ye shall live: § And I will lay sinews upon you, and will
bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and
put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know
that I am the LORD.' "
Here we have the Hebrew word "ruwach" we learned
earlier. The word "breath" in this verse, is translated from
"ruwach". God will cause the Spirit to enter those that hear
His Word, and they will be made spiritually alive.
EZEKIEL 37.7-8 So I propheSied as I was commanded:
and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a
shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
§. And when I beheld, 10, the sinews and the flesh came
up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but
there was no breath in them.
Prophesy means to teach with author­
ity. Ezekiel had followed God's instruc­
tions, but there was still no spirit in
them.
EZEKIEL 37:9 Then said He unto me,
"Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of
man, and say to the wind, Thus saith
the Lord GOD; 'Come from
the four winds, 0 breath, and
breathe upon these slain,
that they may live.' "
Do you understand the
authority and control God has
 given to Ezekiel and you? You may humbly prophesy
to the four winds that will be the driving force that
brings about the events at the end of this dispensation.
EZEKIEL 37:10-11 So I prophesied as He commanded
me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and
stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. 11
Then He said unto me, "Son of man, these bones are
the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, "Our bones
are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our
parts. '
Israel, the ten tribes that went north and settled
Europe, became lost and spiritually dead, for the most
part Most don't even know who they are.
EZEKIEL 37:12-13 Therefore prophesy and say unto
them, 'Thus saith the Lord GOD; 'Behold, a My People,
I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out
of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
11 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have
opened your graves, a
My People, and brought you up
out of your graves,
I hope no one is envisioning dead flesh bodies rising
out of a cemetery. Ezekiel prefaced this chapter by
telling us he was in the spirit. We are talking about
spiritually dead, not flesh dead.
EZEKiEL 37:14 And shall put My spirit in you, and ye
shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then
shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and
performed it,' saith the LORD.' "
We have a "can do" Father. We are in that time
when we will begin to see more action from God's Spirit
in the four winds as He takes control. As we continue
our study of the four winds, let's tum to Zechariah.
Chapter 4 of Zechariah prophesies the death of the two
witnesses of Revelation. Chapter 3 tells of the conflict
between Jesus and Satan. Weare going to pick up with
Chapter 2 which prophesies the events leading to the
2nd advent.
ZECHARIAH 2.1-3 I lifted up mine eyes again, and
looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his
hand. 2 Then said I. "Whither goest thoU?" And he said
unto me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the
breadth thereof. and what IS the length thereof." ;; And,
behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and
another angel went out to meet him,
We have two angels here.
ZECHARIAH 2:4-5 And said unto him, "Run speak to
this young man, saying, 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited
as towns without walls for the multitude of men and
cattle therein: 2 For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her
a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the
midst of her.' "
This is a very good reason for you to have no fear.
I This wall of fire is that Shechaniah Glory that warms
I your heart when the Holy Spirit touches you, but the
I wall is a terror to the enemies of God's children.
• ZECHARIAH 2:6-7 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from
IIthe land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread

you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the
LORD. I Deliver thyself, a
Zion, that dwellest with the
daugh".r.... of Babylon.
The word "spread" in verse 6 means guided. God
scattered His children abroad as the four winds; however,
He has guided them all the way. God is instructing His
children to deliver themselves from confusion.
ZECHARIAH 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts;
After the glory hath He sent me unto the nations which
spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple
of His eye.
Father is a wall of protection. When someone touches
you, it is as though they poked their finger in the pupil
of God's eye. He doesn't like it!
ZECHARIAH 2:9-10 For, behold, I will shake Mine hand
upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants:
and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent
me. 1Q Sing and rejoice, a
daughter of Zion: for, 10, I
come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the
LORD.
This is a beautiful promise. "Yehovah Shammah"
which is to say "God is there". This will happen during
the millennium.
ZECHARIAH 2:11-13 And many nations shall be Joined
to the LORD in that day, and shall be My People: and
I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know
that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. 1'< And
the LORD shall inherit Judah His portion in the holy
land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. J~ Be silent,
a all flesh before the LORD: for He is raised up out
of His holy habitation.
In closing, we are going to Matthew 24. We are
going to pick it up after the elect have been delivered
up to testify against antichrist. Of course, the Holy Spirit
speaks through the elect
MATTHEW 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of
those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall' fall from
heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
This is after the tribulation of antichrist. The hand
of God will shake things up considerably at this time.
MATTHEW 24:30-31 And then shall appear the sign
of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son
of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and
great glory. JJ And He shall send His angels with a
great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together
His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven
to the other.
What have we learned about the four winds? You
are to prophesy to the four winds to blow spiritual life
into the dry bones with the authority God has given
you. You are in the four Spirits of God: love; knowl­
edge; jealousy; and wrath. As long as you are in the
four winds, God has that wall of protection around you.
Not one hair on your head will be harmed at the end
of this dispensation. God will demonstrate His jealousy
and wrath on our enemies, but He will gather His elect
from the four winds.
