These documents concern the crash of Korean Air Flight (KAL) 858 on November 29, 1987. KAL was exploded in mid-air by a time bomb planted by North Korean Agents. All 104 passengers and 11 crewmembers were killed. Included are documents on the investigation into the crash; the arrest and trial of Ms. Kim Hyon-Hui who admitted the terrorist act; and the response by South Korea, the United States, and the International Community.

THE DOCUMENTED CASE AND IT APPEARED TO BE A VERY CAREFULLY
DEVELOPED STUDY. CHUN SAID THAT OUR COOPERATION WITH THE
KOREAN AUTHORITIES HAD MADE BREAKING THE CASE POSSIBLE AND HE
WANTED TO THANK ME FOR OUR EXCELLENT SUPPORT. CHUN SAID ALSO
THAT HE WANTED TO DISCUSS FULLY WITH US DIPLOMATIC ACTIONS THATWE COULD TAKE TOGETHER.
