This unit introduces you to basics of statistics in general and procedures and techniques required for processing and analysing research data in particular. After studying this unit you will be able to (i) appreciate the importance of statistical techniques in research (ii) how to go about processing enormous data collected in the process of research (iii) understand elementary statistical methods and techniques to process and analyse data and (iv) get brief guidance about steps involved in processing and analysis of data.
