Executive Summary
On the afternoon and evening of August 27, 2012, Gravis Market-ing and Capitol Correspondentconducted a survey of 1,397 indi-viduals in the state of Ohio. Thequestions covered preference forthe presidential candidates, Sen-ate candidates Josh Mandel andSherrod Brown, GovernorKasich’s job performance, wheth-er America is headed in the rightdirection, which presidential can-didate is more charitable, andopinions about same sex sexualpractice and marriage. The fulllist of questions are given on page3. Overall, with a margin of errorof 3.0%, Obama leads Romneyby a 45.3% to 44.4% margin.The Senate race also remainswithin the statistical margin of error, with Democrat SherrodBrown holding a narrow 43.6% to41.4% lead over Republican JoshMandel. The margin of error forthe Senate poll is 3.1%. Bothpolls indicate that the undecidedvoters will decide the outcome of the election.

Who is Ahead According to Age Group and Sex?
Overall, Obama is ahead among womenvoters in every age category except themiddle aged women 40-49 year old,with this group giving Romney a 44% to43% advantage. Conversely, Romneywins every age category of men exceptfor the 40-49 year olds, with Obamahaving a 3 point advantage among thisdemographic.
 How do People Feel About the Idea of  Marriage for Gays?
Overall, the idea is not liked, with 46%of individuals indi-cating disapprovaland 38% ok withthe idea. The issuehas a generationdivide, with those40+ not favorableto the idea, whilevoters 18-39 some-what ok with theidea.
