Abstract
This study investigated the effects of transcranial alternating currentstimulation (tacs) of the parietal regions, oscillating at the alpha band, oncortical processes associated with attention. 13 participants (5 males, 8females) completed auditory oddball tasks under stimulation and shamconditions. Each subject was stimulated at their individual alpha peak, andcontinuous EEG was recorded pre and post stimulation. Reaction time wasrecorded pre-stimulation, during stimulation/sham condition, and post-stimulation. Repeated measures ANOVA revealed no significant differences inEEG alpha or reaction time data. Future, improved replication of the study isproposed, and implications for future research and clinical potential for thealpha band and tACS are discussed.
