Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Keralaand active over Konkan & Goa and coastal & south interior Karnataka during past 24hours ending at 0830 hours IST of todayMain Weather Observations
 
RAINFALL (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today ):
Rainfall occurred atmost places over west Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at many places over Jammu &Kashmir, Uttrakhand,Delhi, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Coastal & south interiorKarnataka, Konkan & Goa, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan WestBengal & Sikkim and northeastern states; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, westRajasthan, Gujarat region,north interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and MadhyaMaharashtra and at one or two places over east Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Jharkhand and Bihar. Thechief amounts of rainfall (4 cm and above) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Shajahanpur-11, MountAbu-8, Koraput, Yercaud and Behraich- 7 each, Agumbe,Panambur, Kozhikode, Durg, and Silchar-6 each,Tehri, Amini Divi, Karwar, Mangalore, Kakinada, Amveli, Thiruvananthapuram, Dholpur and Madikeri-5 each,Puducherry, Kalingapatnam, Honavar, Narsapur, Valparai, Tuni, Mumbai (CLB), Karipur, Chandrapur Jorhat,Shirali, Agathi and Agra-4 each.
CLOUDS:
Kalpana-1: Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of HimachalPradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh,Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, northeastern states, central & south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and eastArabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
Meteorological Analysis based on1430 hours IST
 
The upper air cyclonic circulation over south Rajasthan and neighbourhood persists and extends upto 4.5km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
The low pressure area over westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off south Odisha and northAndhra Pradesh coasts persists. Associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto mid-troposphericlevel tilting southwestwards with height.
The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Jodhpur, Kota, Sagar, Jagdalpur, centre oflow pressure area and thence southeastwards to Andaman Sea.
The off-shore trough from Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast persists.

Rain/thundershowers would occur at most places over west coast, Andaman & Nicobar Islands andLakshadweep.
Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Uttarakhand, Haryana (Delhi & Chandigarh), UttarPradesh and Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over south Rajasthan, Gujarat state, interior Karnataka,northeastern states and Sub-Himalayan west Bengal & Sikkim.
Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over north Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and interiorMaharashtra during next 48 hours.
