Pattinson was born on May 13, 1986. His father was in the car importing business while hismother worked at a modeling agency. He was born in London and went to Tower HouseSchool. He took part in several theatrical plays, and this would pave the way for his entry inHollywood.
Pattinson began his movie career by playing roles in Mira Nair’s Vanity Fair and the TVmovie Ring of the Nibelungs in 2004. In 2005, he was scheduled to appear in The WomanBefore at the Royal Court Theatre.However he was terminated and the role took over by Tom Riley. Pattinson’s big break camewhen he was cast to play Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Critics hailedhis performance and declared him one of the upcoming British stars.

Pattinson was then cast in the role of Edward Cullen in the movie version of StephenieMeyer's book Twilight.
