Dynamation -
Dynamation was the term created by stopmotion model animator Ray Harryhausen to dene a processo 3D animation, which employed stop-motion models, as op-posed to two dimensional animation or cartoons.Normally, a model would be placed in ront o a rear-projectionscreen with a previously lmed live-action plate and animatedto interact with another model, the environment on the screen,or a live-action character. Te positioning o the model and an-imation table was airly precise to ensure that the model bothscaled correctly and appeared to interact with its ‘environment’in a physically realistic manner. Te end result would look as i the model was in the same space as the elements in theplate ootage. I done precisely, the models could be animated to make contact and even ght with human characters.
