STEVE MILLER INTERVIEWS DREW PETERSON FOR WBBM – JANUARY 15, 2009Miller: Just for the record. Just give me your name.PETERSON: Drew Peterson.MILLER: OK. That sounds good. Well, tell me, how’s everything going with your newlife, I guess -- with Christina moved in.PETERSON: We have a harmonious bliss at the Peterson home.MILLER: OK.PETERSON: We got, uh, two new kids -- and they're four and five years old andthey're meshing well with my kids.MILLER: That's great. That's great. Now there was some talk that you might bemoving to a bigger place or something?PETERSON: You make plans for the future and that varies and that changes. As of right now we're settling into our home. It's like, whenever you get two new familiesmeshed together it's like a box of baseball cards and you just rattle everybody intoplace 'til it fits.MILLER: Now I have to ask you, with all the media attention was she a littlefrightened or scared off?PETERSON: Oh yeah. Any young girl that's thrown into this all of a sudden -- it's just a very scary thing and at one particular time it scared her off altogether butsubsequently we got back together and decided to be together.MILLER: What particular time was that?

PETERSON: This was during the month -- over a month's period.MILLER: OK. But things are OK. What about marriage plans?PETERSON: Well, if you get engaged to someone that's normally an indication, that’s the first step to heading that way so we’ll see how it goes.MILLER: Any -- have you filed for divorce yet?PETERSON: No, that's something going to be in the hands of my legal team andwhen they decide that it's time to do that, then we'll do that.MILLER: I heard a tip, Drew that you were at Jerrod jewelry store in Bolingbrook onNew Year's Eve. Any truth to that?PETERSON: Yes, I was. I was there and I was buying Christmas gifts for people.MILLER: Anything for Chrissy?PETERSON: Yes, actually. A pair of earrings.MILLER: You've given her a ring though, an engagement ring, right?PETERSON: No, I haven't. Not as of yet. I have a friend that’s a jeweler and we'llcross that bridge when the time comes.MILLER: So, just clarify it. You've asked her to marry you though, right?

PETERSON: Actually, she’s asked me and I've asked her and we've basicallyagreed that down the road we will get together and marry.MILLER: When might that be, "down the road"?PETERSON: I would have to see how life folds out. No definite plans or any dateset or anything.MILLER: OK. Is she still a little bit scared because of all the media attention andbecause, well frankly, all the publicity about you?PETERSON: Scared to death. She's not scared of me. She's very comfortable inour home and she's just basically scared of the media and she's already been avictim of people talking to her and her family saying things and it coming out intothe world different than what they said, so she's already been a victim of themedia…misrepresentation let's call it.MILLER: Misrepresentation of your story, you mean?PETERSON: Of what has actually been said by people.MILLER: I'm sorry I’m just hearing some clicking on the phone. Does she want towork or does she just want to be a housewife or what do you think?PETERSON: ....particular now. She's working and I'm the housewife. We got a littlerole reversal. I'm retired so I devote all my time to my children.MILLER: I hear she had some issues with her ex-boyfriend and the father of herchildren too, I guess. Two different guys.PETERSON: Two different guys. Both have been abusive to her in the past.Subsequently, now she's with me.
