Known as American Buffalo isconsidered as North America'slargest land animal.
HABITAT:
Plains, prairies and river valleys.
DIET:
Mainly eat grasses and sedges
 THAT'S AMAZING:
Bison's thick fur offers great protection against harshelements of American plains. Their winter coat is so thick and wellinsulated that snow can cover their backs without melting.
 
GRIZZLY BEAR (Brown Bear)
Largest predator that is different fromblack bears due to a distinctivehump on its shoulders.
HABITAT:
Rivers and coastal areas,mountain meadows and in thetundra
DIET:
Grasses, sedges, roots, berries,insects, fish, carrion and small andlarge mammals.
THAT'S AMAZING:
Grizzly bears havea better sense of smell than a hounddog and can detect food from milesaway.
 
MOUNTAIN LION
Is also known as cougar, puma,panther, and catamount and is thelargest wild cat in North America.
HABITAT:
it is found in all forest typesas well as in lowland andmountainous deserts
DIET:
Deer and small mammals likemice, squirrels, porcupines, raccoons,rabbits and beavers.
 THAT'S AMAZING:
Large as jaguarsbut are less muscular and not aspowerful; where their ranges overlap,the mountain lion tends to be smaller

RACCOON
It has gray to brown fur and a black mask around its eyes with white fur around the mask.
HABITAT:
Wooded areas near water.It is also adaptable and is also foundin suburbs and cities.
DIET:
Omnivorous and eat commonfoods like fruits, nuts, berries, insects,rodents, frogs, eggs and crayfish.
 THAT'S AMAZING:
A raccoon's handsare so nimble they can unlace ashoe, unlatch a cage, deftly retrievecoins as thin as dimes from your shirt
PRONGHORN
Fastest land mammal in NorthAmerica. Known as "prairie ghosts"because they are so elusive.
HABITAT:
Grasslands, brushlands anddeserts.
DIET:
Eat herbs, cacti and desertgrasses.
 THAT'S AMAZING:
Active in the nightand in the day. Has excellenteyesight and can spot a threat up tofour miles away! When threatened itwill attack 
using its sharp hooves.
 
MOOSE
HABITAT:
Forest areas where there issnow cover in the winter and nearbylakes, bogs, swamps, streams, andponds.
DIET:
Is a twig eater. In warm monthsit eats the leaves, twigs and budsand shrubs. It also feeds on lilies. Inwinter it browses on woody plants,balsam, birch, aspen and dogwoodtrees.
 THAT'S AMAZING:
It has poor eyesight but good hearing andexcellent sense of smell. It is also avery good swimmer.

BIGHORN RAM
HABITAT:
Live in alpine meadows,mountain slopes and foothills.
DIET:
They eat different foodsdepending on the season. Summer:grasses and sedges. Winter: eat morewoody plants and rabbit brush.
THAT'S AMAZING:
Sometimes when agroup of bighorn sheep arethreatened by a predator like a wolf,they group together in a circle andface out towards the predator.
 
MOUTNAIN GOAT
It is actually a member of theantelope family. It's mostly seenscaling steep, rocky edges.
HABITAT:
Rocky mountains andcoastal ranges of northwesternregions of North America, includingsouthwestern Alaska.
DIET:
Eat grasses, sedges, herbs,shrubs, ferns mosses and lichens.
 THAT'S AMAZING:
They have beenknown to leap 10 feet from oneledge to another, and turn aroundon a platform that is only inches
RIVER OTTER
HABITAT:
Streams, lakes, reservoirs,wetlands and along marine coasts.
DIET:
Primarily eats fish. Also knownto eat whatever is easiest to find, likecrustaceans, mollusks, insects, birds,oysters, shellfish, crabs, crayfish, frogs,rodents, turtles and aquaticinvertebrates
 THAT'S AMAZING:
Can stayunderwater for up to 8mins and canclose their ears and nostrils to keepwater out. They can also dive to adepth of 60 feet!
