Patient Extended Care Fund
In the world of alcohol andsubstance abuse detoxification andrehabilitation, research has showna clear correlation between thelength of stay in a hospitallike Brighton and the long-termsuccess of the patient’s recovery.Insurance carriers, however, donot reimburse behavioral healthand rehabilitation from substanceabuse as generously as they cover a patient’s medical and surgicalneeds. This might mean thatinsurance reimbursement isavailable only for five days atBrighton, despite the fact that the treatment team assessmentpredicts a more successfulrecovery with a 30-day stay, partialhospitalization or a halfway housesetting. Brighton’s Patient ExtendedCare Fund provides for this gapin funding.
