As we watch our great nation make a huge decision on who shall lead us forward, many have felt ourConstitution and the freedoms it protects are continually under attack. Gary K. Gundlach, a home-grown grassroots patriot, will present to us his great appreciation of the Second Amendment and theConstitution as a whole. He includes in his repertoire: research of a Constitutional scholar, reading quotes from our FoundingFathers, the Constitution, historical documents and current court cases which have rearmed his belief in the Second Amendment as a valuable foundation of our freedoms.Mr. Gundlach was born in Scotia, graduated from Eureka High School, received his BA in Journalismand Master’s degree in Business Administration. Gary is a husband and father, married to Shawn for 39years, and they have 3 children. He is a senior estimator for Barry Smith Construction in Eureka. Hewas co-chairman for Relay of Life this last year and he will be the event chairman for the next 2 years. As a member of Fortuna Sunrise Rotary, he is Past President and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is a lifemember of the National Rie Association and a member of Heritage Association of America.Gary has a strong respect for, and derives great enjoyment from, the use of rearms. Since the age of 10, Gary has been hunting and shooting. He has sold rearms and, in doing so, has spoken to manypeople who appreciate the freedom to purchase them for self-defense.Mr. Gundlach is an alternate to the Humboldt County Republican Central Committee and a frequentvisitor to our monthly luncheons, so please join us on September 20th to hear his presentation. As thelate Charlton Heston said, “…as it relates to other amendments in the Bill of Rights, the SecondAmendment should be the FIRST,as it gives us the freedom to defend the others.”
Humboldt Republican Women Welcome
‘Freedom and Our Constitution’
While we, as Republican Women, admire and lovebeing called Americans, our nation is rapidlydrifting from its biblical foundations. Our freedomto serve and worship God is often challenged bygroups such as the ACLU.We are engaged in a great spiritual battle thatthreatens our families and our freedom of religion.Only divine intervention will return America to anation continuing to receive the Creator'sblessings. Our Founding Fathers knew the power and purposeof prayer. From America's beginning, many haveprayed us through times of tragedy and war.I believe it is time to go back and heed that veryfamiliar promise from II Chronicles 7:14:"If my people who are called by My name willhumble themselves, and pray and seek My faceand turn from their wicked ways, than I will hearfrom heaven, and will forgive their sin and healtheir land."
