Player Injury and Extreme FatigueList
Dear Joel:I write you regarding this year's MLB Player Injury and Extreme Fatigue List receivedlast Tuesday, September 4th, 2012. According to the list, there are at least twenty (20) playerswe consider to be native Puerto Rico players. Of these, five (5) have been designated as injured, namely: Steven Moya, Jose Ortiz, Gabriel Rosa, Antonio Jimenez, and Juan Perez. I herebyrequest that you please send me descriptions and statuses as to the injuries of these five (5) players. On the extreme fatigue front, there are fifteen (15) such players. Of these, I consider seven (7) of them to not qualify for the extreme fatigue clause of the current Winter LeagueAgreement. These players are:
Nolan Arenado. Nolan is currently a third baseman with the AA Tulsa club, affiliatedto Colorado. As of today, Nolan has consumed 516 at bats, where WLA regulations statethat 550 or above are considered extreme fatigue. Nolan's team is scheduled to play only one(1) more game, making it virtually impossible for him to reach the 550 benchmark.
Francisco Lindor. Francisco is currently a short stop with the A Lake County club, affiliated to Cleveland. As of today, Francisco has consumed 490 at bats, where WLAregulations state that 550 or above are considered extreme fatigue. Francisco's team wasscheduled to play their final game last night, making it impossible for him to reach the 550 benchmark.
