Installation
MACHINE SUITABLE FOR DOMESTIC USE This machine should be installed on a flat and safe surface.

- Electrical installation: This electrical installation should be made only by qualified staff, always following the attached indications. a) Please, check that all the electric notes written on the characteristic plate, are in concordance with the current of the electrical outlet where the machine is going to be plugged. b) It is necessary to have a ground connection according to the regulations currently in force. c) You should protect the electric line from the installation with a magnetothermic switch for the machine specified on the characteristic plate. d) You should have a differential relay in accordance with the characteristics of the installation. e) Please check that the section is in accordance with the power consumed by the coffee machine. f) Do not use extension lead, adaptors, multiple wall sockets at the connection of coffee machine to the electricity network. - Hydraulic installation: If you are going to use the coffee machine with water connection, you should connect it to water means with a 3/8 male. IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO USE A WATER SOFTENER. If you are going to use the machine with the water reservoir : 1) Remove the upper lid from the coffee machine. 2) Take out the water reservoir. 3) You must cut the plastic flange that you will find at the bottom of the tank. 4) Fill the water reservoir. WITH DE-SCALED WATER ONLY. Important The coffee machine has got a by-pass device, to choose the working position: water network or water reservoir option. Please check it is well connected.

The manufactures is not responsible for the injuries or damages on persons and/or animals, as well as damages on equipment, caused by a wrong installation of the coffee machine.

Start-up

Steps to follow: If the machine is going to be connected to the water network ,please open the water pass. If the machine is going to work with water tank: Lift the top lid of the coffee machine, remove the water tank; cut the plastic flange that you will find at the bottom (see fig. 1). Fill the water tank , do not close the tank until the first coffee comes through,It is advisable to use only de-scaled water, in order to avoid scale related problems. Connect the machine to the mains and switch it on (1); the boiler will start filling automatically; when the machine has finished the initial filling process ,it will start the heating process, indicated by a red light. All the Office models are provided with an element protectors system; in case of lack of water in the machine, the element will be automatically disconnected, stopping the heating process in order to avoid any damage on the machine. When the red led switches off, it will indicate that the machine has heated up until the proper boiler temperature for brewing.

Correct fitting of the filter holder on the brewing group

CORRECT FITTING OF THE FILTER INTO THE BREWING GROUP HOLDER Insert the filter holder into the group head to get the lugs union. Insert the filter holder pressing the lugs up. Then, turn it from left to right until it reaches a perpendicular position to the coffee machine.

Take the filter holder and the filter basket spring . Place the filter basket spring in its place into the filter holder. Now introduce the filter basket you need in.

Coffee brewing
PULSER MODEL Take off the filter holder from the machine. Put on the filter basket the right amount of coffee (it will depend of its size). Preferably fresh ground coffee (Fig. 6). Press the coffee with the tamper. Place the filter holder on the brewing group on its right position, and check it is well adjusted . Place the cup under the coffee outlet and press the brewing push button.

EB-61 LEVER MODEL Please follow the same steps as in Pulser Model. On the EB-61 lever model, lift the lever to obtain the coffee, and take it down to stop it. CONTROL MODEL Proceed as in Pulser model, putting the right amount of coffee on the filter basket, and select the desired option on the switchboard. The switchboard is already programmed with 4 standard doses (to modify them, see setting), and a continuous button. The first 4 buttons (1 short coffee 1 large coffee 2 short coffees 2 large coffees) disconnect automatically, the 5th one is for continuous coffee, and should be pressed again to disconnect. THE FILTER HOLDER SHOULD BE ALWAYS PLACED ON THE BREWING GROUP, in order to keep it on the right temperature to obtain the best coffee. Drip tray removal

Remove the grill placed on the drip tray. Lift the tray up slightly at the front, and pull forward saving the front stainless steal, then lift it up and remove it from the machine. Empty contents and wash the tray out . CHECK THE LEVEL ON THE DRIP TRAY PERIODICALLY. Do not operate the machine without the drip tray. SWITCH OFF THE MACHINE FROM THE MAINS TO CARRY OUT THIS PROCESS. Do not let children operate the machine.

Switchboard Switchboard features

The 1d5 switchboard, it is capable to do the following functions: Volumetric control of 4 different coffee dosages per group. Timing control of tea dosage (if activated). Automatic coffee & tea dosage (if activated). Boiler charging & element guard control & management (if activated). System supervision through alarms. Serial connection RS-232 with data reading from the control panel to PC. Brewing group auto-cleaning. Independent switchboards: in machines with more than one unit, in case of failure of one of them the rest can keep working.

Switchboard setting
We are going to program the coffee doses we would like to obtain automatically.

To program the switchboard press and hold the symbol * for aprox. 5 seconds, until the green leds on the switchboard light up; at this moment press the symbol of the coffee selection you want to program (1 single, 1 large, 2 singles, 2 larges). You will see all the green leds switched off, except the option you have selected and the * led. Press again the same symbol when the quantity in the cup reaches your desired level, it will be memorized and the led on this selection will then disappear to show that setting has been successful. Repeat the above process for all the coffee selections. This process should be carried out with fresh coffee in the filter holder. For to re-program any dose, all the selections are independent, so it can be modified meanwhile the rest of selections remain memorized. Example of 1 short coffee setting: Take the filter holder from the machine and fill it with the coffee, then place it into the brewing group. Place a cup under the coffee spout and press and hold the * button until all the green leds on the switchboard light up. In this moment press the short coffee; the green leds will then disappear excepts the short coffee one and the * button. The coffee will start to run into the cup. Once the quantity in your cup reaches your desired level press the short button again. The led on this selection will turn off to show that the setting has been successful.

10.3

Switchboard alarms
When the time for boiler charging is superior to the one programmed (2 min.), the leds will start lighting. You should switch off and on again the machine (from the main switch) to unblock it. When we press for a coffee dosage &it lasts more than 5 seconds, the led from this dosage option will start lighting. You should press it again to switch it off. 5 minutes is the maximum safety time for any dosage.

Heating up liquids
Place the steam pipe over the tray, opening slightly the steam tap, to eliminate the water drops from inside the pipe. Close the stam tap. Insert the steam pipe inside the liquid to be heated up. Open the steam tap. It will start heating up the liquid (with the steam knob open do not take out the steam pipe from the liquid, it could be dangerous). Close the steam knob before taking out the steam pipe. Once the process has finished, place the steam pipe over the tray, and open the knob again to clean the pipe from inside. Close the knob and clean the pipe with a damp cloth.

Hot water for infusions

Place under the hot water outlet the cup/recipient to be filled up. Open the hot water knob (2) until obtaining the desirable amount of hot water.

Coffee machine cleaning

Switch off the machine. All the outside from the machine can be cleaned with a damp cloth, and only with a non aggressive detergent. Do not use solvent or degreasing detergent.

Water softener filter cleaning


Fill the water reservoir. Introduce 300 grams of table salt inside the water reservoir.

Dissolve the salt into the water (stirring the water). Insert the water softener filter inside the water reservoir. Drain the water reservoir through the water softener filter. To drain the water from the reservoir. Place the plastic tube as the following design indicates. Suck in the tube until it fills with water. Press with the fingers the water outlet from the tube to avoid any air entrance. Keeping the pressure in the tube, place the outlet from the tube downwards, as it is indicated in the design, wait until the reservoir is completely drained. Once the water reservoir is empty, fill it again with non salt water and repeat the process in order to clean the water softener filter. Brewing group cleaning


For pulser models: Take off the filter holder from the machine. Place the filter membrane on the coffee filter. Insert a sachet of detergent on the filter holder. Use only special detergent for brewing group cleaning. Place the filer holder on the brewing group and press the pusth button (6) during 5 seconds. Repeat it 5 times.

DO NOT MANIPULATE THE FILTER HOLDER DURING THE AUTOCLEANING CYCLE it is advisable to do this brewing group cleaning once a week. Important: Once the cleaning cycle with detergent has finished, take to pieces the filter holder to rinse it out. Repeat the brewing group cleaning without detergent this time for a perfect result.

Insert a sachet of detergent on the filter holder. Use only special detergent for brewing group cleaning.
Place the filter holder on the brewing group. Press the push button to disconnect the machine. Press the push button 2 short coffees, switching on the machine at the same time. The brewing group auto cleaning cycle will start automatically.

DO NOT MANIPULATE THE FILTER HOLDER DURING THE AUTO CLEANING CYCLE. Once the process has finished, the machine will continue in its normal working position. It is advisable to do this brewing group cleaning once a week. Important: Once the cleaning cycle with detrgent has finished, take to pieces the filter holder to rinse it out. Repeat the brewing group cleaning but this time without detergent for a perfect result.

16.

Cleaning of the rose & group teflon gasket

After many times of inserting the filter holder (filled with ground coffee) in the brewing group, coffee particles always stay on the closing system, blocking its good adjustment. These coffee particles also block the water passing through the rose. Solution: cleaning Place on the filter basket the cleaning membrane without detergent (fig. 10). Insert the filter holder on the group without closing it, leaving it loose. Press the brewing push button. Move it from left to right without closing it. Previous process to use the grinder a) b) c) d) 6 7 Make sure the bean hopper (2 )is correctly placed. Place the coffee access trap (3)in a locked position, in order to avoid the pass from the coffee beans to the grinder, just pressing it. Lift the hopper lid(1), fill the hopper with coffee beans (2),and close the lid. Slide the access trap(3) to its outer position letting the beans drop into the grinder chamber. Pull the trap.

To obtain a dose of ground Coffee a) b) c) Place the filter holder on its support(7), located right below the ground coffee dispenser outlet . Push the dispenser button (8)to obtain the coffee dose. Place the filter holder under the ground coffee tamper (9)and press upwards to compress the ground coffee.

Adjusting the degree of grinding To obtain the degree of grinding (more finely / coarsely ground). a) b) More finely ground coffee: Keep the adjustment trigger pressed (5) and turn the platen (4)to the right and then release the adjustment trigger. More Coarsely ground coffee: keep the adjustment trigger pressed (5, )and turn the platen (4) to the left and then release the adjustment trigger.

Time adjusting of the ground coffee dose Move the coffee dispenser (6),to the left; in this position the grinder will be more time grinding the coffee. If it moves to the right, the grinder will take less time to grind the coffee. To calculate 7 grams of ground coffee you can use the coffee spoon. If the coffee comes through too fast, grind your coffee a little finer and try it again. If it comes through too slow , grind your coffee a little more coarse and try it again. The coffee should comes through slowly but continuously.

Suggestions
If the machine is connected to the water network, use a water softener on it to avoid any scale related problems. If your machines works with water reservoir, it is advisable to use only de-scaled water, in order to avoid any scale related problems. Clean the brewing group once a week. Clean the softener group once a week . Use fresh ground coffee , to keep the best properties of the coffee, flavour and aroma.

Posible malfunctioning

A 98% of the malfunctioning of the coffee machine is caused for not using de-scaled water. Just using de-scaled water will avoid many inconveniences. In case of failure, please contact with the technical service.

DO NOT MANIPULATE THE INSIDE OF THE MACHINE. THIS SHALL BE DONE ONLY BY QUALIFIED & AUTORIZED STAFF. DO NOT INSERT ANY OBJECT THROUGH THE VENTILATION OPENINGS. CHECK PERIODICALLY THE DRIP TRAY. AVOID THE CHILDREN USING THE MACHINE, UNDER RISK OF BURNING. DO NOT MANIPULATE THE MACHINE WITH WET HANDS OR FEET, OR BARE FEET. TO DISCONNECT THE MACHINE DO NOT PULL THE CABLE, SWITCH OFF THE GENERAL SWITCH. FOR ANY DOUBT OR ENQUIRY ABOUT THE MACHINE FUNCTIONING, CONTACT ALWAYS QUALIFIED & AUTHORIZED STAFF. The manufacturer has the right to modify the machine without previous notification, in order to improve the product.
