 AN INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
 
1.THE RULES OF THE GAME
This Tournament shall be conducted in accordance with the current Rules of the Game of Indoor Hockey andregulations published by the F.I.H.
2. PARTICIPANTS
2.1Participants are limited to registered players only.
3. CLOTHING AND TEAM COLORS
3.1Each team will wear the colors of its club (either primary or alternative) as specified on the entry form andany additional items of clothing worn by a player during a match must be of the same color specified for theadjoining corresponding piece of clothing.3.2If in the opinion of the Technical Officer the colors of two opposing teams might lead to confusion, one of the teams must change colors. This team will be the team that is listed first on the schedule, if an amicablesettlement is not possible.Goalkeepers shall wear a color different from that of their own team and that of their opponents.3.3A player must be properly dressed at all times during a match with shirt tucked in and socks up with shinguards worn inside.
This will be strictly enforced.
Field players are strongly recommended to wear shin/ankle and mouth guards.
3.4If a player sustains an injury that caused bleeding, that player must leave the pitch as soon as possible andshall not re-enter until the bleeding has ceased and the wound is adequately covered.Blood stained clothing must be replaced and equipment cleaned before re-entry to the pitch.3.5Each team must have an appointed captain or acting captain on the pitch or on the bench at all times duringa match, who must wear a distinctive arm band or ribbon.3.6Goalkeepers and field players replacing or substituting for a goalkeeper must wear protective headgear when defending penalty corners and penalty strokes; this headgear must not be worn outside the circle.
4. PLAN OF COMPETITION
There will be two pools of five teams in both the men’s and women’s division, with the top two teams in each pool competing for the Championship. .
5.PLAN OF RANKING
5.1All teams will play against each other in their respective pool, and the following points will be awardedfor each match:
Three points to the winner;
One point to each team in the event of a draw;
 No points to the looser.Teams will be ranked according to the number of points each has accumulated in the competition.5.2 (a) If at the end of competition, two or more teams have the same number of points for any place,these teams will be ranked according to the team which won the most matches.(b)If there remains equality between two or more teams, then these teams will be ranked according to therespective goals-difference (which means “goals for” less “goals against”).A positive goal-difference always takes precedence over a negative one.
 
(c)If there still remains equality between two or more teams, then these teams will be ranked accordingto their respective
“goals for”.
 (d)If there still remains equality in the case the “goals for” awarded two or more teams be equal, then theresults of the match played between those teams involved will be taken into consideration todetermine the ranking of the tied teams.(e)Should there still remain equality between two or more teams, then these teams will be rankedaccording to the winner of a coin toss.
6.DURATION OF MATCHES
6.1A match shall consist of the regulation time of two of 12.5 minutes each, separated by an interval, whichshall not exceed 3 minutes. The score at the end of the regulation time will be registered as the result of thegame.6.2In order to establish an outright winner in the
semi-finals
and
finals
for the purpose of selecting a winner,the teams after a 2 minutes rest period will play two 5 minutes
“Sudden Death”
halves, with no rest period.The extra-time shall cease, however, once a team shall have been awarded a goal. The team shall be thewinner of the match.a.If a tie still exists, then it will go to “
Sudden Victory”
strokes.
6.3“Sudden Victory” Penalty stroke Competition
a.Five players from each of the two teams, chosen by their respective team manager (leader) from the players listed on the entry form, shall take a penalty stroke alternately against one and the samegoalkeeper of the other team unless the latter has been incapacitated and replaced. The players musttake the penalty strokes in the same sequence as the list of five players nominated and communicated by the team managers (leader) to the Technical Officer on duty prior to the start of the penalty strokecompetition. 
“Sudden Victory”,
which shall mean that the winner shall be the first team to have been awarded onemore goal than the opposing team after an equal number of strokes (no minimum) have been taken byeach team. If necessary, this “sudden victory” series may exceed ten penalty strokes, five for each team.The sequence does not need to be the same as in the previous series and the team manager has freedomof choice at the time of each stroke as to which of the five nominated players will take the stroke usingall five nominated players per round. b.No player who has been suspended by the Technical Director or, has been excluded permanently (redcard) from the field of play during the same match by the umpires, shall take part in a penalty strokecompetition.7.
TIMEKEEPING
7.1Time-keeping will be controlled by the technical table officials, whose responsibility it will be to signalthe end of regulation time at halftime and full time.7.2The umpire shall blow a whistle to start or restart the game; they shall also signal the technical table everystoppage they may order and the subsequent restart.7.3Because use of the facility is limited by time, stoppage of time will not be encouraged.
