STAFF INSTRUCTIONSPROVINCIAL EXAMS

SUBJECT TEACHERS:
1. Please be report the exam room prior to your scheduled exam in order to collectfrom students textbooks and, if necessary, to issue
Lost/Damaged TextbookForms
. Please deliver to the Pink Slip to Barb Carson ASAP.2.
You are not permitted to attend any exam room
in which the exam for yoursubject is being administered. You may examine the test booklets and testmaterials provided by the Ministry 30 minutes after the exam has begun. Jeff canhelp you with this when he is available
Invigilators:
1. Please report the Library Conference room at least 30 minutes prior to the examstart time in order collect the exam materials (8:20 for AM exams, 12:20 for PMexams). If no one is there, they have already been picked up.2. Copies of exam booklets, answer sheets, reading packages, etc. will have to beplaced on desks prior to the arrival of students. They must be set out inalphabetical order (LITHO ORDER) with the Student Response Sheet containing
the student’s name
on top of the materials (Note: Materials for exams may vary).Student Services staff will collect exams from the rooms for students who arewriting in the LA or LD room. These students will be registered and thenescorted to the LA or LD room3. Admit students into the
exam room
about 15 minutes prior to the start time of theexam (AM Exams start at 9:00, PM exams start at 1:00). Bags, large jackets,purses, and any other items should be placed on the floor at the front of the examroom,
not
under student desks or tables. Students should be seated where theyhave been directed to sit and awaiting your instructions.
Important: Studentsneed to be seated in alphabetical order. They cannot touch any of the exammaterials that have been placed on their tables or desks.
4. Students must have their GO CARD or ID and should have 2-3 sharpened pencils,an eraser, 2-3 pens and a calculator (for Math), but no other equipment. Studentsare
not
to sha
re equipment. “Scratch paper”
CANNOT
be provided.
Note: Apencil must be used to complete multiple choice answer sheets, whereas a pen(BLUE OR BLACK) must be used for all written-response sections, with theexception of Mathematics 10 and 12 examinations.
5.
Once most/all students are present and seated:
a) Students must be told which
exam booklet form
they have been assigned,and must indicate it in the box (pencil in the bubble) on their
ResponseSheet
and/or
Written Response Booklet
.
This step must be precise. If the student fills in the incorrect bubble, his/her answers will be readas incorrect, as the Ministry of Education answer key will not matchthe answers on/in
the student’s
Response Sheet or Response Booklet.
b) Register the students for the exams once seated. Divide up the signaturesheets amongst the invigilators and register the students. Check ID andhave the students sign the signature sheet and place the two stickers on theresponse booklet. Ensure the Litho Numbers match at all times.c) Just before the exam begins, instruct students to open the ExaminationBooklet and immediately check that they have the correct number of pagesbefore they begin writing.
