Family Connectionis a catalyst for change withinfamilies, schools, and thecommunity. Through a teamapproach that includes families,the Easton Area School District,and community organizations, weimprove academic performance,the quality of life, and thestrength of our community.
Family Connection’s Guiding Principles
1. We believe that all children and families have greatstrengths and that family relationships enhancechildren’s ability to achieve their goals.2. We mobilize individual, family, and community strengths to achieve positive outcomes.3. We respect the dignity of every child, parent, andcaregiver.4. We honor the unique contributions that each child,parent and caregiver makes to their family and tosociety.5. We coordinate the efforts of families, educators, andthe community, as we are all equal partners in the well being of children. We work cooperatively with othersand develop mutually beneficial partnerships.6. We believe that parents and caregivers are the mostinfluential teachers in a child’s life.7. We believe that all children deserve the right to begin school ready to learn and have access toenriching experiences that prepare them for academicand personal success.8. We support the right of all people to meet their basic needs including a sufficient income, safehousing, health care, nutritious food, and community support.9. We believe that families have a responsibility toprovide love, support, protection, and encouragementto their children.10. We respect parents’ and caregivers’ values andtheir right to make family decisions.11. We provide information and support to families tohelp them make positive decisions.12. We respect children’s and families’ right toconfidentiality.13. We work toward making our community a safeplace where children are free to play, learn, and grow.14. We encourage families to participate in meaningfulcommunity engagement activities, as their experiencesmake a vital contribution.15.
