This eight-hour program consists of two parts; first, a study of job descriptions, based on purpose and essential elements, making effective use of information gathered through job analysis. Part 1 includes tips on how to gain the employees’ acceptance of both the job analysis questionnaire based on target exercise. Includes as well is an exercise on how to prepare a job analysis questionnaire based on target information as determined by the purpose of the endeavor. Part 2 focuses on writing the job description document, element by salient element, with special emphasis on the verbs and tenses to use, as well as other language conventions that increase the effectiveness of the resulting document. This program is replete with practice exercises, sample, models and tools that help the participant gain confidence in being able to conduct job analysis back in the workplace and ideas for writing or re-writing definitive job descriptions.
