The Subway and the Bus

The subway and the bus both cost $2.25 per ride.

There are tons o cameras in the NY subway system. Don’t do anythingstupid.
•
We promise, it is not that conusing. Just take your time and read themap. It makes so much sense when you do that!

That being said, the subway map is NOT spatially accurate. NOT NOT NOT.Do not use it as a way to get around above ground.

Parking
•
You really don’t want to park in Manhattan. Just, no.
•
I you park in Brooklyn or Queens you can take the subway into Manhattan.
•
I you park in Jersey City, Harrison, and Hoboken you can take the PATHtrain to the World Trade Center stop.
•
Most streets have specifc hours and days or street cleaning. There aresigns that tell you the days and times on the streets. I you have your carparked on a street during its street cleaning hours, you will get a ticket.
Tips and Rules of the Road

It’s illegal to turn right on a red light in New York.
•
Watch or and show respect to bicyclists! They are just trying to not die.

10:30 AM-12:30PM – WELCOME AND ORIENTATION ACTIVITIES, LUNCH12:30PM-4PM – INAUGURAL ASSEMBLY AND THEMATIC BREAKOUT GROUPS
The anniversary convergence will ormally begin with an inauguralassembly to kick o the three days o education, celebration and resistance.We will hear reections on the past year rom comrades across the country.Following that, there will be horizontal, acilitated breakouts around keythemes o the past year (debt, housing, education, climate, incarceration,immigration, labor, economic justice, money and politics, etc.). Thosewith experience in these areas are welcome to join and help enrich thediscussion. Ater the breakout we will re-converge to share our discussionsand evaluate the state o our movement and prospects or the uture.
4PM-6:30PM – OPEN SPACE
There will be ino tables, teach-ins, workshops, perormances, trainings,and political discussions throughout the day. However, this is an idealtime or these activities as it is set aside as an “open space”. OccupyTown Square provides an open-source board or groups and individuals toindicate any activities they may wish to host, and or helping people locateand join activities they may wish to attend.
4PM-6:30PM – DIRECT ACTION AND KNOW YOUR RIGHTS TRAININGSThis space is intended or organizers and trainers (in New York Cityand other occupations) to assist in skill-shares and knowledge-sharesabout activism in New York City and involvement in direct actions. Thisspace will be open or targeted Know Your Rights trainings specifc toNew York City, and will also include Plus Brigades training.
