Discussion
The minutes of the April 22nd meeting were presented for approval.

Action?
Nola moved and Tanicia seconded the motion to approve the March 22, 2012 meeting minutes. Martin abstained because he did not attend that meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. No action taken.

Security Ambassador Report: Ted Tarver -May 1st Events/OPD Response Maintenance Ambassador Report: Rick Williams

District Service Coordinator Report: Andrew Jones a) Beautification b) Surveillance Camera Task Force c) Preliminary 2013 Budget Planning

Ted briefly explained the events of May 1st to the committee. There was some vandalism and a few broken windows, including two banks. He noted that we now have direct radio contact with OPD through our police radio. Rick stated that the maintenance Ambassador crew began work at 5:00am on May 2nd. The crew was finished with the main Broadway corridor by 9:00am, and the district was returned to normal by 11:00am. Rick noted that the majority of the graffiti was done in chalk, which expedited clean-up. Andrew updated the committee on the various beautification projects. Hanging plant installation will begin this weekend. He also updated the committee on the timeline for the back of BART project. Andrew noted that staff is in communication with Patrick Lane and Gregory Hunter who work

Session -Projects -Project Maintenance Budget -Staffing

with the tenants at the Fox, about annexing the Fox into the district. Andrew also noted that discussions with Patrick Lane and Gregory Hunter also included median work, and the possibility of I-9 grant money being used for median work, if the CBDs can help with watering and maintenance. There was some discussion of budgets for next year. Andrew recommended that the committee focus on budgeting money to maintain the projects underway, and to maintain Ambassador service levels. Andrew updated the committee on the status of the CCTV project. Andrew noted the possibility of a new entertainment complex, similar to San Franciscos Metreon, being built adjacent to our district.
