Questions 31 35 Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow. Baca petikan di bawah dan jawab soalan-soalan berikutnya.

The coconut tree is a tree of many uses. It grows well in a hot climate and sandy land. The stems of the flower pods contain a juice called nira kelapa which can be taken as a drink. However, it is mainly made into palm sugar or gula melaka used in making cakes. Pak Mat from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan earns a living by extracting this juice from the coconut trees. He starts work at dawn each day as the juice is pure and fresh at this hour. He carries with him a machete and a tukil which is a bamboo container. The tukil is used to collect the juice dripping from the stem. Pak Mat is able to bring home as much as twenty litres of nira juice a day. Then, he and his wife will begin the process of making palm sugar. The juice is poured into a big wok. It is boiled for about five hours until it turns thick and sticky. It has to be stirred from time to time to prevent it from being burnt. Then the thickened juice is poured into moulds. When it has hardened, these pieces of gula melaka are ready for sale. Pak Mat normally makes about sixty pieces of gula melaka a day. He sells them at about seven ringgit for four pieces.
