Armed Robberies 013th District (Wood)

About the Crime: This alert gives notice to residents of the 013th District (Wood) of robbery-related incidents that have occurred. In each of these incidents, the offender approached the victims, took their property by force and then shot the victims before fleeing the scene. Incident times and locations are listed below: 1000 Block of N. Damen Ave. on September 14, 2012 at approximately 1:25am 2100 Block of W. Thomas St. on September 14, 2012 at approximately 1:30am About the Offenders: Offender descriptions vary, but are generally described as: Male black, age 20-35, 5'07-6'00, 150-180lbs, wearing dark clothing What you can do: Always be aware of your surroundings Report suspicious activity immediately If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc...) Wanted for Theft from Auto (Catalytic Converters) in the 13th and 18th Districts
About the Crime: This alert gives notice to the community in the 13th and 18th Districts of an increase in felony theft-related incidents. The offender(s) crawls underneath the victims vehicle and cuts off the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter is then sold to a scrap yard. The offender usually targets SUVs, vans, and pickups. Most of the thefts are occurring in the late evening and early morning hours. Incident times and locations are listed below: 18th District 2200 Block of N Stockton Dr on September 01, 2012 between 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. 100 Block of W Elm St on September 02, 2012 between 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. 13th District 400 Block of N Leavitt St on September 9, 2012 at approximately 9:30 AM. 1100 Block of W Ohio St on September 11, 2012 between 1:00 AM to 3:00 PM. About the Offenders: There is no physical description of the offender(s) at the present time. What you can do: Be aware of this crime and alert other neighbors in the area. Try to park your vehicle in a well lit area.
