At least, 434 people died and 8.9 million people were affected during 2011 Sindh floods. Of this number, 20.7 million were children. 6.97 million acres of land was damaged and 1.52million homes were destroyed. Several schools, hospitals, means of communication andtransport were damaged and became ineffective.
