AseriousallegationinthemaincomplaintagainsttheUSSpeedskatingorganizationisthatofsexual misconduct.Iandmyfellowcoacheshaveneverbehavedorsaidanythinginappropriateinthisregard.An objectiveobservercanspeakwithallmycurrentandformerathletesandwillneverhearofanymisconduct.In fact,the7pageCODEOFCONDUCTVIOLATIONS:JAESUCHUNwhichisaletterdraftedbyEdWilliamsthat goesintodetailaboutpotentialcoachmisconducthasnotasinglementionofanysexualmisconduct.This simplyhasnothappened.

Anotherseriousallegationisthatofphysicalabuse,particularlythatIslammedanathleteupagainsta wallandrepeatedlyhithimandwithapparentlysuchforcethatIcausedtheathletephysicalinjury.Idid pushhimandwehadadisagreement.LaterIapologizedtohim.Weresolvedtheconflictamicablyand certainlyhewasnotinjured.Infact,hewonseveralmedalsthenextdayattheWorldChampionships.We continuetohaveagoodrelationship.Iwilladdthatalthoughapproached,heisnotoneoftheathleteswho havebroughtthecomplaintagainstme.Afterthecomplaintwasfiled,thisathletestated,Hepushedmeup againstawallandwehadsomewordsandthatwasit.Hedidnthitme.Hedidnthitmemultipletimes.He didntcausemeanyphysicalharmwhatsoever.Iwouldpreferthatwekeephisprivacy,butcertainlyany investigatorcanspeakwithhimandconfirmhisstatementandmine. AnotherallegationisthatIormyfellowcoachesprovidedalcoholtominors.Againwhileinthebroader complaint,heleftoutallmentionofitintheCODEOFCONDUCTVIOLATIONS.Thischargeissimplynottrue.I amadamantlyagainstdrinking.Myfirstactionin2007whenIbecamecoachwastoinstituteanodrinkingrule withzerotolerance.Itledtoatremendousamountofunpleasantnesswithseveralmembersoftheteamatthe time. Finally,Iwantedtomentionthatthoughtwoofmycolleagues,oneofwhomisanassistantNational Teamcoach,Mr.YeoandMr.Jang,areembroiledinthisargument,neitherwerementionedintheCODEOF CONDUCTVIOLATIONSletter.Iwouldaskthatinyourconsiderationoftheevents,thatyouremovetheirnames. Inshort,IhavenotabusedathletesinanywayandamconfidentIwillbefoundinnocentattheoutcome oftheinvestigation. Bestregards,
