With ofces throughout the state, BCI stands readyto respond 24/7 to local law enforcement agencies’needs. Experienced special agents, forensic scien
tists, and other law enforcement experts staff BCI’sIdentication, Investigation, and Laboratory divisions.The division provides a central repository for all of Ohio’sfelony records. Among other responsibilities, it oversees:• Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLEG), a resource-rich Internet-based tool that provides law enforce-ment with data on criminal histories, evidence sub-missions, missing children, gangs, protection orders,and other topics• Automated Fingerprint Identication System (AFIS),which houses more than 4 million criminal recordsand related ngerprints, palm prints, and photos forimmediate access by law enforcement• The provision of advanced technology to help locallaw enforcement agencies ght crime and shareinformation more effectively
