Simplicity: here we can see that compared to the NME contents page, this one is very plain and

simply organised in a plain layout.

Main image: The main image is quite powerful due to the facial expression and use on stance with the model (Kanye West) He is pictured with a careless expression and his hands in his pockets signifying he seems uninterested at the womans hand across his shoulder holding a heart. This may refer to one of his songs named heartless as the fact he doesnt seem to care about the hand and heart resembles this word. The image is in black and white whilst the heart is in red which represents love and passion whilst the black and white photo gives the impression of gloom and coldness, which contrasts with the heart. Kanye may have been made the focus of this contents page as he may be one of the main stories within the magazine so is made the main item in the contents page (being shown with an image). Background: The background makes out to have a v behind Kanye. Which is the first initial of the magazines name, Vibe. This keeps the name of the magazine a focus point through out.

Contents Title: The reader clearly knows that this is the contents page as it is written in bold ,black capital letters. However instead of being written in a straight horizontal line, the word is split onto three different levels. This makes the page interesting as it adds levels which attract the eye. By doing this it also allows the picture to have more space on the page, as the word doesnt cover the photo and allows it to main clear. The font of this resembles Kanyes facial expression as hard and expressionless as it is very basic but stands out.

Subheadings: These are written in a more stylish flowing font in comparison to the contents title. This gives the magazine a sense of sophistication and change to the contents page

Contents Pages: These are written in a simple font but in capitals and are not in bold so do not take up a lot of the page or look cluttered as a list. Next to each story heading is a page number. This allows people to find what they are looking for easily. The pages are written in the form of a single column rather than scattered on the page or separated in boxes. This may make it harder to define each story individually, however may make the page look less cluttered and more formal.
