In 1948,the capital city of the state of Orissa was changed to Bhubaneshwar from Cuttak.

The average temperature of the city is about 40 degrees insummers while 10 degrees in winters. The monsoon enters the cityin June and leaves in October. Therefore, the best time to visit thecity is somewhere between October to February, which experiencesgood temperature as well as a humid climate.
