FESTUS ASO. EKENYERE. ..…66INTRODUCTIONThis is the first of my Bible Study Guide Series aimed at reconciling theworld to God by His Son Jesus Christ through intensive study of the word of God.It is ideal for Sunday school and Bible study classes or family Bible discussions. In this particular series, we will be studying the way of establishing a newrelationship with God in an atmosphere of serenity. This is the need of the lostworld today. But unfortunately the world has not realized its need. We are in aworld that has been blinded by Satan and carried away by human wisdom. The apostlePaul says, “ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whomthe god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest thelight of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine untothem.” - II Corinthians 4:3, 4.Since man lost his position in God in the Garden of Eden, peace has eludedthe world. Wars and rumours of wars form the greater segment of the world news.Injustice, bloodshed and different kinds of violence have replaced the cool of theevenings when God came down to chat with man who He created in His own image and

likeness. Bodies of different beliefs and ideologies gather together every day forpeace talks. Man trying to achieve peace in this world by his human effort withoutthe Prince of peace is futile. All the world can achieve is the counterfeit, theshadow not the substance. In all their peace talks, the world body has not for one day thought aboutman’s marred relationship with the Creator of the universe. How can man live inpeace when he has not made peace with God? When you are at peace with God, yourfamily, community, and country will enjoy peace.Peace with God denotes a right standing or sound relationship with God. Itis however more than a subjective feeling. It connotes an objective status, afresh, sound relationship with God that every other man around you enjoys. Itmakes you feel good and bold in the face of circumstances. It gives you assuranceof divine providence. Above all, peace with God guarantees your eternal presencein the Kingdom of God.I therefore encourage you to go through this volume carefully and acquirethe second titled, “PEACE OF GOD”. Do not rush over its pages. Meditate on thechapter captions, Bible references and your present relationship with God. Sharewhat you study with your family members, friends and enemies (if you have any). Byso doing, you are helping to bring peace in our world. If after studying, you have some questions that need my attention pleasewrite to me using the publisher’s address and your questions will receive promptanswers. It is a study that keeps you busy with your Bible so pray for morerevelation before each chapter. May God bless your reading with deeper revelation.LESSON ONETHE STATE OF THE FALLEN MANROMANS 3:10-18 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Thereis none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are allgone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none thatdoeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tonguesthey have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is fullof cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction andmisery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is nofear of God before their eyes.”In the first dispensation, we learnt that man was sinless, pure and asperfect as God. God’s purpose was for man to remain in that perfect state throughall eternity. But, unfortunately man fell from that glorious position and becamealienated from God. The reason was that man obeyed the devil’s voice instead ofGod’s clear commandment. In the book of Genesis, it is written thus – “ And theLORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keepit. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thoumayest freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shaltnot eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” –Genesis 2:15-17.The command was not ambiguous. Simple, “THOU SHALT NOT EAT OF IT”. It wasexpected that man should understand and keep this simple commandment of his lovingCreator. But by his own volition he chose to disobey God. The Bible says, “Now theserpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree ofthe garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of thetrees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the
