Maurice Lopes is an expert in building successful businesses. He is currently the CEO and cofounder of EarlyShares.com, a leading equity-based crowdfunding platform. In the mid-90s, Mr. Lopes developed and formed GICC (Global Interconnect Communications Corp), a company that supplied network services to major U.S. telecom carriers such as Sprint, MCI and Frontier Communications. In 2003, he became co-owner of HotBrick, an internet security operation providing superior firewall routers bridging the gap between usability and network security specifically for the small business owner.
EarlyShares, the premier online Equity Based Crowdfunding platform, was founded in 2011 to help entrepreneurs raise capital from the crowd everyday people like you. Unlike traditional funding sources, which can be expensive, difficult to access, or simply not suitable for the needs of many startups and small businesses, EarlyShares allows likeminded individuals to come together and pool the resources (i.e. knowledge, energy, commitment and, of course, capital) needed for entrepreneurs to succeed. This means your friends, family, local community, and individuals across the globe will be able to help fund your business in exchange for ownership (equity) in the company. In addition to allowing new ideas to get funded, our platform allows existing businesses the opportunity to access much-needed capital to grow. More on EarlyShares visit: http://www.earlyshares.com/
