This is the OLD 22nd edition (January 2009) of the free physics textbook, though WITHOUT figures and films. The text gives an introduction into physics that is simple, vivid and up to date. It shows how everyday life observations can lead us to understanding motion, including relativity and quantum theory, with almost no mathematics. There is no boring page: in fact, there is something interesting, surprising and challenging on every page.

This text-only version also lacks most hyperlinks, but still contains the complete text. It is optimized for "read aloud" by Adobe Reader, and will one day be expanded into a version for the blind. Enjoy!
