Shared Services - Successes


First-year restructuring at MSC and SUNYIT will yield net savings to academic resources of $297,000 at MSC and $376,000 at SUNYIT. SUNY Potsdam has redirected approximately $700,000 in administra5ve spending and SUNY Canton has invested at least an addi5onal $500,000 in academic aairs. SUNY Delhi and SUNY Cobleskill have iden5ed more than $600,000 in administra5ve savings with a joint cabinet. Clinton Community College and SUNY Plagsburgh recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to share services in several areas, SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam have hired two shared administrators in the past year, joint Chief Financial Ocer and joint Veterans Aairs Ocer. In Western New York, nearly 40 pairs or groups of administra5ve counterparts at the University at Bualo and Bualo State have met and generated nearly 100 new shared services ideas. Alfred State College has begun providing SUNY Fredonia with prin5ng services for legerhead and envelopes, and the colleges are exploring expanding the partnership. 21
